Before they knew it, it was time to play Goodbye Baby, the very last song of the set. The rest of the concert had gone very smooth, hopefully everything on tape would look good enough to put it on a DVD for sale. If it wasn’t, they were going to be taped again during the next show. But either way, they were off tomorrow, she hoped Lindsey was going to stay with her for the whole day instead of being the control freak he could still be sometimes, and check the whole tape while it wasn’t his job.

They walked of the stage, hand in hand and he led her backstage to her dressing room. Before he let go of her hand he squeezed it softly. “I’ll see you in a minute babe”, he softly said. She looked into his eyes and nodded, she blushed a little.

Lori was already waiting in her dressing room, this tour she wasn’t Stevie’s backup singer but she tried to be around as much as she could. “Good god, Stevie, what happened? Was something wrong with the air conditioning onstage? You look pretty flushed”

“Ah, I, I don’t know, it wasn’t too bad, give me a cold drink, it’ll go away, unless I get sick, but I’m not feeling sick. Did you watch the show”? She tried to change the subject and sat down on the couch. She hoped her red cheeks would disappear soon. He could still do this to her. She thought about the night that lied ahead of her. She couldn’t wait to be with him again, to feel him, to…

“Stevie, Stevie? Stevie, are you there? Earth calling Stevie!” Lori waved her hands in front of Stevie’s face and when Stevie finally responded she handed her her drink.

“No-nothing, I was just thinking about the show, I was just going thru all the songs we did to think of something that went wrong, maybe.” She lied.

“So nothing’s wrong, are you sure?”

“Yes, I am.” And with that answer she put the bottle to her lips and emptied the whole bottle in a few sips.

“Well, the performance was amazing, I think.” Lori said. “But of course, I might be biased, because you’re my favorite sister in law.”

“Yes, that’s easy to say since I’m the only one you have.” Stevie laughed.

“I know, but really, I think it look…”

A knock on the door interrupted Lori’s words.

“Stevie we’re all waiting for you in our dressing room.” Lindsey yelled.

“Ok, I’m on my way.”

Fifteen minutes later she was back in her dressing room. She quickly changed into something more comfortable while Karen and Lori packed her bags. When they were finished they left the dressing room and walked to the door were a few cars were waiting.

She hugged Lori tightly, knowing she might not see her for a week or two since Lori had to go home to take care of Jessie. “Bye Lori, have a safe flight and give my niece and brother a big hug from me and tell them that I miss them.”

“I will, you take care of yourself too”

And with that they both stepped into different cars. Karen joined Stevie in her car. “Do you have any plans for tomorrow Stevie?”

“No I don’t, I think I’ll stay in my room and keep myself busy with some writing and maybe I’m going to try to finish that baby blanket for Stella, I’m working on it for ages already and I want to give it to her before she turns one, so I have some work to do.”

The ride to the hotel was a short one, before they knew it the car had stopped in the parking under the hotel so Stevie could safely enter the hotel elevator up to her suite without being noticed by fans or journalists.

Karen quickly put all Stevie’s stuff away while Stevie was already in the bathroom, ready to take a hot bath. “Stevie, I’m going now, or do you need anything?”

Stevie quickly put on her robe to face Karen. “Sorry Karen, all I could think of was my bath time. I’m good, although I do have a favor to ask you.”

“Of course, what can I do for you?”

“Well, you don’t have to do anything, I just want you to take the day off tomorrow and go to the Spa since I’ve arranged a Spa day for you because I think you deserve to have a relax day. You are working so hard for me and I truly appreciate everything you do for me, so I hope you’ll accept my gift.”

“I, I, Stevie, I, ah, yes, that’s very nice, but you shouldn’t have…”

“No, Karen, I want to, you deserve it.”

“Well, thank you, it sounds great. I’ll accept it, of course! Are you sure you’ll be okay tomorrow? I can take my cell phone with me so you can call me if there is something you need me for?”

“I’ll be okay, Karen, just enjoy your day off, really, don't worry about me, I'll be allright.” And with that she hugged Karen goodnight. “I’ll see you the day after tomorrow.

Karen left and Stevie walked to the phone and quickly dialed the number of a room only a few doors away.

“Hey Linds, it’s me. I’m going to take a bath now, so see you in an hour? My room? No, I gave Karen the day off, so no interruptions. Ah, you’re a bad boy! Yes, I LOVE that, you know that. Ok, see you in an hour. Bye!”

And with that Stevie walked back to the bathroom, took of her robe and lied down in bath. She closed her eyes, thinking of the show. Everything had gone so smooth, it was so much fun to perform with Lindsey again. Just like it used to be, years back, fun, relaxed and a little flirtatious. In her mind she made a decision. Tonight was going to be all about him.

Not knowing that in his room, Lindsey just vowed that the night was going to be all about her...
