"I can't do this to you guys," I said, sitting at the table with Liam and Perrie at 6am. It was Liam's turn to cover for me. But after six days, they were all dragging and Perrie looked physically drained. Liam shrugged but said nothing. Perrie shook her head. "No, no it's alright." I sighed. "How about this. We all go back to bed and sleep in. Next time I get sick I will just get Niall." Liam nodded and stood. "Sorry, Leanna. But thanks." We went back to bed.
I woke up an hour later, though, sick again. This time I ran to my and Niall's bathroom. I threw up heaven knows what and leaned against the wall, worn out. "Babe?" Niall called quietly and groggily from bed. I shakily stood to brush my teeth. "Oh gosh, Leanna!" Niall cried, walking in and seeing I had been sick. He rushed to me. "Morning sickness," I spat bitterly, looking at him in the mirror. He sighed and rubbed my back while I brushed my teeth and cleaned up. "Wake me next time!" I rolled my eyes and spit out toothpaste.
"Yes," I said sarcastically, "next time I'm fighting to make it to the bathroom I'll be sure to stop and wake you up." I wiped off my face and walked back to bed. Niall turned out the bathroom light and crawled in next to me. I sighed. "Sorry. I didn't mean to snap," I said after a couple minutes. He chuckled. "It's alright. Mum warned me about hormonal crap." I rolled my eyes. "Hey mum also said that some hospitals can tell us the gender at five weeks." I sighed. "I can't wait three and a half weeks," I whined.
"Me either," Niall agreed. Suddenly, our door burst open and Perrie, Liam, Louis, Harry, and Zayn all filed in. "Happy Mother's Day!" They cried out in unison. I laughed and Niall and I sat up. "Ew. PDC. Public Display of Cuddling," Louis sneered. I glared at him. "Well, we know you're not officially a mum yet, but since you're pregnant and it's Mother's Day in the States, we figured it might be a little hard on you so we decided to have our own little baby shower!" Perrie rambled. I raised my eyebrows. "All of you?" I asked knowingly. Harry looked away, Zayn shrugged, and Liam grinned sheepishly. But Louis blurted out, "Perrie made us!" I laughed.
"Even if we weren't having a kid," Niall said, "we'd have five on our hands already." I laughed again and said, "Well, counting you, I'd have six kids." Niall laughed and took the three gifts Perrie held out. "Okay, okay. That one is from me and Zayn," she gushed. It was an owl blanket, coloured green and brown. I hugged Zayn and Perrie. "It's adorable. Thanks!" Louis pointed at the next one. "From me and Haz." Harry blushed and punched Louis' arm playfully. Perrie and I shared a glance before I opened it. It was a TMNT pillow pet. "We don't know the gender!" Niall said, laughing.
"I'm hopeful, 'kay?" Louis said defensively. I rolled my eyes and took the final present. "Wait. Okay, so I had a boy present from me and Sophia... But since...... I went and got a different one. Like a whole set of stuff," Liam explained before Niall and I could tear into the last gift. I smiled at him sadly and tore off the wrapping paper. It was two outfits, one for a boy and one for a girl, and a zebra striped fuzzy blanket with pink border and a silk pink bow holding it together. "See, Lou," Niall said, "Liam was smart and got two outfits. So if it's a boy, we take the girl one back and vice versa." Louis rolled his eyes. "Whatever," he scoffed. Perrie pulled out a fourth present. "And this one really is from all of us and Niall's mum."
It was a blue monkey blanket and another girl onesie that said "Daddy's Little Girl". We aw'ed at it and Niall and I thanked everyone, texting Maura a "thank you" as well. "Wait. Now I have something," Niall said. He handed me a long, slim box. Inside was two necklaces: a bronze one that said "m❤️mmy" and a gold one that said "b❤️by". I smiled and hugged him. "Thank you," I said, giving him an Eskimo kiss. Harry and Louis, of course, pretended to gag. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed.
"I'm starved. Let's eat," I said, running down to the kitchen.
