I beeped my horn repeatedly outside of Calum's house and rolled down the window so I could see into the garage where all 4 of the boys were sitting.

"Come on, Michael! We're going to get hair dye!" After my afternoon at work went a lot better than my morning, I was a lot more excited to change my hair than i had been. I was a new person now, i could do whatever i wanted to do. As if she could hear my thoughts, Kelsey began calling me. I sighed and turned the phone facedown on the dash. It wasnt that i didnt want to talk to her, i did, i really did. But i always wanted to settle into my new life, here, without her. Michael ran towards the car, with the rest of the boys trailing after him. He jumped into the passengers seat and smiled in my direction. "Ready?" I asked.

"Can we come?" Ashton asked, his head outside Michael's window.

"Nope, we'll be back later, byeeeeeee!" I shouted and sped off. Michael laughed as i waved out of my window to the boys we'd left behind.

"They look pissed." He said. I giggled and closed my window.

"Point me in the direction of the nearest hair dye store!"

We got back an hour later with tons of snacks and enough hairdye to dye everyones hair. Michael was the happiest I'd seen him since i met him, and that made me happy too. I sent him over Calum's to get the rest of the boys as i put the snacks out on the kitchen table. I also set the hair dyes out on the counter, trying to decide what colour i wanted. Michael picked out black, purple and blue. I picked dark red and black, Michael said he could do a dip dye effect. I was thinking about this when my cell started ringing again. I answered it, I'd been ignoring her for too long.

   "Hey Kels."

   "Addie! You okay?"

"I'm good, you?" The boys burst through the back door and i motioned for them to be quiet, Ashton and Luke sat down at the table while Michael showed Calum the hair dye's we'd bought.

"Mom still hasnt calmed down, Addie. You need to speak to her, let me put her on the phone?" As she said this, Ashton poked my side and pointed to the snacks I'd laid out.

"Can we eat these?" He asked.

   "Go ahead."

"Go ahead? You'll talk to her?" Kelsey's voice rang out in my ear.

"Oh, god no. I was talking to someone else." I walked into the living room so i could speak properly to her. "Listen Kels, i'll talk to mom eventually. I just need time. Just a little time, okay?"

   "I'm coming to visit you."

"No, you're not. I'm just settling into life here. and then you can visit all you want. Like i said, i just need some time, please?"

"Addie, Michael's opening hair things, you should stop him before he gets carried away." Calum smirked from the living room door. I laughed and held up a hand to signal i'd be in after my phone call.

"We miss you, Addie. And its killing me to lie to Mom."

"You wont have to for much longer, i promise. I have to go, i have people round."

   "Please be safe, Addie.

"I always am." I hung up the phone before she could say anything else, leaving it on the sofa as i went to join the boys in the kitchen.

"Your sister again?" Ashton asked, his mouth full of Tim Tam.

"Yep, she's really not giving it up."

"She's worried. I'd be worried if my sister moved to the other side of the world without telling anyone." Calum spoke. I sighed and looked to Michael.

"We doing this thing?" I asked, picking up the various dyes from the kitchen table. I had chosen a dark brown for the roots of my hair, and a deep purple for the bottoms. Michael chose the same so we would be matching.

   "Let's do it."

By the time we were done, the other boys had retired to Calum's basement to play video games, so we headed over there to show off our new locks.

"What do you think?" I shouted as we burst through the basement door.

"Beautiful!" Calum said, without taking his eyes off the game. I shook my head and laughed. Ashton walked over and touched the bottoms of my hair.

"I love it, you actually did a really good job." I frowned at him.

"Why do you sound surprised? We killed this!" He laughed and led me to the armchair, where he sat next to me on the arm.

"Movie?" Luke asked as he threw down his controller, I guessed he lost the game again.

"Let's watch The Breakfast Club." Ashton exclaimed, and I agreed excitedly.

We all watched but I found my mind wandering to my family at home. I really needed to talk to my mom and fast, before she really lost it. I promised myself I would call her by the end of the week and settled in to finish the movie with a very sleepy Ashton by my side.
