Colours. They're all around, but people don't seem to notice their colours like Dan does. Colours change too, sometimes people are red, sometimes people are blue. Red people are angry, blue people are guilty. Phil? He's usually yellow. Yellow means happy.
I walk through the front doors of the school and I'm immediately joined by my bestfriend, Madelaine.
We reach her locker and I watch as her tired, peachy mood switches to a deep purple, suspicious one. "Why didn't you text me back last night?"
I sigh loudly "Because all you were talking about was how attractive Brendon Urie is, and although I, one hundred percent agree, you can be annoying while you're fangirling"
She gasps loudly, slamming her locker shut. Red. "My fangirling is not annoying!" Her voice raises slightly, her arms moving around for emphasis.
Madelaine sighs "I'm going to be late for class, see you at lunch Dan" She waves and walks away from me.
I turn and start towards my locker when suddenly, something hard hits my side, causing my books to fall to the ground. I bend down to pick them up and I end up with an elbow hitting me, hard, in the nose.
I look up to see none other than Phil Lester, his usual yellow, happy mood is now blue, his face shows worry mixed with guilt. "Oh my God, Dan I'm so sorry are you alright?"
"Uh- Yeah I'm fine, yeah.." I blink a few times, trying to focus.
Phil examines my face, his eyes widening when they wander to my nose. "Oh, your nose is bleeding." Blue.
I hold my gand over my nose in an attempt to stop the blood. "It wasn't your fault."
Phil laughs -a beautiful sound- and the dark blue lightens a little bit. He still feels bad.
I look around realizing the bell already rang and they were the only two left in the hallway. "You should get to class." I say to him, trying -and failing- to pick my things up with one hand.
Phil scoffs lightly "I'm not leaving you with a bloody nose that I caused."
I sigh quietly and obey, following him to the nurse's office.
As we step into the office, the nurse stands up and rushes towards us. "What happened?"
"Ah, I accidentally hit him with my elbow" Phil replies, lifting his elbow and pointing to it, making me laugh a little.
"I see." The nurse takes my arm and pulls me towards a room behind the counter. "Does it hurt bad?"
"Not really. It just feels like I got hit in the face."
The nurse laughs and places a wet cloth to my nose, gently wiping the blood away.
Shortly after that, the nurse sends Phil and I back to class. We walk down the hallway towards my class when Phil speaks up.
"Do you want to just skip the rest of this period?" He glances at me, yellow. He smiles softly.
I smile back at him "Sure."
