Chapter 2: Is there a chance?

Edward POV

I couldn't sleep all night. That stupid Palm Tree was stuck in my head. I wonder what the hell is problem was.

It was 8 in the morning so I gave up and went downstairs. Winry had made yummy pancakes. She smiled at me.
"Hey Ed, sleep well?", she asked.

I shook my head.
" Not at all", I grunted.

"How come?", Alphonse asked.

" I couldn't stop thinking about the idiot Envy. The worst part is I have no idea why", I explained.
"That's kinda strange", Winry replied.

He set a glass of milk in front of me. I glared at it hard.
" Its you again little bastard", I growled.
"Brother just drink your milk", Alphonse urged.

" No way. I'm not in the mood for this, besides it evil", I stated. I got my coat and walked towards the front door.

"Where are you going?", Winry asked.

" Taking time into town. I need to clear my head", I stated. With that I walked out the door and into town.

Envy POV

I was so confused. I decided to go ask List, see what she might know.
When I got there Gluttony was eating another human corpse.

"Thank you for the yummy human Lust", he chimed.

" Of course, its your reward", she replied. She then looked over at me.
"Well if it isn't my brother Envy, what are you up to?", she asked. I sighed.

" Can you tell me some info on something?", I asked. She looked at me confused.

"I suppose, what would you like to know?", she asked. I sat next to her. Man how do I ask her about this? I don't wanna completely explain myself. Then I'd look pathetic.

" So Lust....what does it mean when someone can't stop thinking about another person?", I asked.
"What do you mean?", she asked.

" Well when there's that a person you can't stop thinking about, no matter how hard you try. You get this, strange feeling inside", I explained.
"Is there anything else to it?", Lust asked.

" Well, what if there was a person you've hated for so long. Suddenly it, changes...", I replied.

"Go on", Lust urged. I took a deep breath.
" Its just suddenly, you don't want to hurt that person. And no matter how hard you try to hate them again you just can't ", I was getting frustrated by this point.

My whole body tensed up. I felt Lust place a hand on my shoulder and I relaxed.
" Envy, who is it that's making you feel this way?", she asked. I shot a glare at her.

"I never said it had anything to do with me", I snapped. She gave a soft smile.
" Envy, it was way too obvious ", she stated. I facepalmed.

" Well, you gonna tell me?", she asked.
"Bite me", I growled. She shrugged.
" If you say so, but then I can't answer your question now can I", she remarked. Dammit this bitch.

I looked away.

"Edward Elric", I replied.
" Really? How interesting. The good news is that I think I know the answer to your problem. The bad news is, you're not gonna like it", she stated.

"Why? What do you think it is?", I asked. Lust smirked.
" Simple, you care for him", she replied.

"What?!", I yelled outraged. " That's not all...", she leaned close to my ear.
"You have feelings for Edward", she whispered.
I got up and headed towards the exit.

" What's the matter? Scared of the truth?", she called out.
"Shut up!! You were absolutely no help at all!!", I snapped. I left the room and into onenod the empty cells.

There was this particular one I liked to go to. It was all the way in a far corner. My room basically.

I plopped onto the bed and groaned.
" Dammit, that stupid bitch", I growled. There was one thing to Lust's theory that didn't make sense.

Part of having bleh...feelings, was that I had to be attracted to him. I started to think. He does have a pretty cool eyes. Gold like a dragon.

His short height made him pretty cute. The way he would try to save everyone. His handsome face when he smiles...
I found myself caught in a daydream.

I snapped out of it and gasped. Realizing my thoughts I felt myself blushing.
"Is...there really a chance?", I asked.

I scowled and smacked myself.
" Hell no!! Not happening", I stated. I ran out the cell and towards the exit to town.

I needed to kill him, once and for all.
