No matter how many times he tried, Peter never found a single living human being. He was tired of being alone. 2 years living off of magical vanishing gourmet dishes was bad enough. Finally. An escape to this painful reality.
A beast of rubble. They were the creatures that wiped out some of the populace themselves. Even took down some skyscrapers before dissolving into a pile of metal and rock. They were terrifying monsters, they would kill anything on site.

As Peter walked up to the beast, he put his arms into an eagle spread, and then closed his eyes waiting for it all to end.

All Peter heard were the breaths of the monster. However there was one problem...
Peter was still alive

He was supposed to die. It was all supposed to end.
As Peter opened his eyes, all he could see was the monster, staring at him with its blank grey eyes. The sight of it made Peter shiver, but then the monster dissolved into a pile of rubble.
Like it always does.
