"Colby. We need to break up."
I froze.
"What? Why?" I managed to choke out, "What did I do?"
He sighed through the line. I could hear a girl laugh, but I merely dismissed it.
"It's not you, it's me." He mumbled.
I felt my eyes get blurry.
Why would he do this? We were dating for three years! Why now? I loved him so much, and he pulls this?
"Listen-I—I need to go."
I heard the girl say something.
"Sam, hang up on him, now."
It made me feel infuriated.
Did she force him to do this?
"Okay Katrina—Colby, we'll talk later, okay?"
I felt a tear cascade like a waterfall, trailing down my face.
"Okay. I still love you, Sam."
"I still lo—"
He hung up.
Or maybe this Katrina chick did.
I shut off my phone.
I know he loves me. He's shown it many times.
He can't just pull off this feat without a specific reason.
I put my phone down, letting it slide down my bed, onto the floor.
But maybe I'm just in denial.
