Mark went to look at his phone, realizing that he missed a call from Jack. He immediately dialed Jack's number, waiting for him to pick up. "Mark, hey." Jack answered. "Hey! I'm so sorry I didn't hear your call, must've had my phone on silent." Mark said to him. "It's okay, all is forgiven." Jack said. "Thanks, Jack. So, why did you call me?" Mark questioned. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come over for a bit to discuss a few... Things." Jack said with a slight giggle at the end of his sentence. Mark was a little bit confused to why Jack had laughed, but he didn't think much of it, thinking it was an inside joke.

"Yeah, sure! What time do you think?" Mark asked him. "Let's say, around 11:40 PM?" Jack said. "That's a little late, don't you think?" Mark questioned. "Yeah, but it'll be even more fun." Jack said in a sort of sinister voice. Again, Mark was confused about why Jack added certain personality to his sentences, but again, he brushed it off. "Okay, sure." Mark said. "Sounds good." Jack said. "See you then, Jack." Mark said. "Yes, see you soon, Mark." Jack said in a weird manner.

11:40 PM...

Mark got out of his car and walked up to the door of Jack's apartment. He knocked and heard footsteps running down the stairs. He was greeted with his best friend opening the door. "Hey, Mark! What's up?" Jack said in a joyful manner. "Not much, you?" Mark said. "Well, it's been awhile. Do you want to come in?" Jack asked. "Yeah, of course. Let's go." Mark said as Jack led him into the apartment. Jack closed the door behind him as he brought Mark into the living room, having him notice the dark staircase leading down to his basement. "That's not ominous at all." Mark said sarcastically.

"Do you mind waiting here for a moment?" Jack asked. "Yeah, sure." Mark said as Jack left him in the living room. Mark has been noticing a change in Jack lately. More social than usual, but yet so hidden at the same time. And he was acting strange the other day too when Mark cut his hand on his microphone, causing his hand to bleed. Jack's house gave off a strange vibe to Mark, a darker vibe than he liked and expected. Mark heard small footsteps coming down the stairs and when he turned around, Jack was about a foot in front of him. Mark jumped back in surprise, causing Jack to chuckle as Mark started to stare into his blue eyes, which he swore were a darker shade than usual. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare ya." Jack said. "It's okay, you didn't mean to." Mark said.

"So, you wanted to talk to me about a couple things?" Mark questioned. "Yes..." Jack said, slithering the 's'. "So, what do you want to talk about?" Mark asked. "Well... What do you think I want to talk about?" Jack responded in a rather cold tone. Mark just noticed this, but Jack had his hands behind his back. "Jack? Why are your hands behind your back?" Mark questioned. "Oh, no reason..." Jack said as he chuckled darkly. Mark's gut was tell him to get out of there, but his heart was telling him to stay with his friend. He turned around and looked at the entrance of the basement.

"It's, really dark down there." Mark said in a nervous tone. He heard a single footstep behind him, a quiet one, but it was audible. "Goodnight, Mark." Jack said sinisterly. Jack took his hands from behind his back, revealing a baseball bat, hitting Mark in the head with no hesitation, knocking him out cold before he had a chance to react. Jack chuckled for a few seconds before he picked up Mark's seemingly lifeless body and descended down into the darkness which was his basement...
