chapter 19:

Nathan's POV

The boys said we'd got a signing at that then I'd have to help them and Leigh decorate this club for Gemma's birthday. If I'm honest I didn't want to go to either. I didn't want to go to the signing cause I wanted to stay at home with Rachael, this lovely girl I met a few days ago and the decorating. Well I didn't want to see Leigh. I got ready to leave and said goodbye to Rachael telling her I'd see her later. "Wow Nath you’re on time feeling aright mate?" Tom asked as I got into the van. "Yeah just want to get today over and done with." I replied sitting down. "We know mate and we're sorry but you know it’s for Jay." He said turning back round as we set of. We pulled up to HMV and got inside. "Hi guy's I'm Christie, this is Leigh if you need anything we'll get it just ask and well welcome." This Christie person said. When she said Leigh I looked up. "Thought you worked at the other HMV?" I asked looking away. "I did but we had to move again you know the whole Jake thing and besides Gemma wanted to be closer to Jay." Leigh said smiling at all the boys as Christie left the room. "I know I said you never had to see me again but for just this one day can we forget about it and do something good for a friend? Cause to be honest Nathan she's not had a good life the past few years neither of us have but at least she can be happy ok." Leigh whispered then followed in Christie's footsteps. At that moment I wanted to follow her to tell her Jayne was wrong but I knew that it was pointless. I'd never be allowed to even be seen talking to her. I just wished I was at home with Rachael at least I was happy when she was there. 

Leigh's POV

The signing seemed to go slow and every time the boys had a break Nathan avoided me which to be honest didn't bother me too much. The signing finished and the boys packed their things ready to leave. "Leigh you coming with us or we meeting you there?" Jay asked walking over. "Erm I'll meet you there just gotta clean up take this and make it good." I say turning to Christie to ask what needed to be done. "What the hell you know them?" She asked looking shocked. "Yeah my friends the girl with Jay." I say smiling. "Oh well I think you should go with them I'll finish here." She replied. "Ok thanks Christie your a life saver. Jay is it ok for me to come with you?" I shout "Christie doesn’t need me" "yeah hurry up." Jay says as I jump into the van, the only space next to Nathan. "Can I?" I ask looking at him. "Whatever." He says turning away and putting his headphones in. I could feel tears filling up in my eyes so turned away and started talking to Tom. After we'd got to the club and decided how we were going to tackle the decorating it took us about 3 hours and I have to admit it looked pretty cool. We all said goodbye and went home to get ready for the party. As I walk in I see Gemma sat down watching telly. "Hi Gemma bye Gemma." I shout running to my room and fetching her present. "Happy birthday." I say giving it her. "Leigh it’s lovely." She says opening her new top and chino's. "You might want to wear them tonight, be ready in let's say two hours?" I ask getting up to go in the shower. "Why where are we going?" Gemma asked stopping me in my tracks. "Well just to Nando’s for dinner then out to some clubs." I reply smiling. I walk up to my room to find something to wear deciding to make an effort as I'd be with Nathan. Even though we weren't together I wished we were he just made me feel safe and happy which I've found is rare.

Gemma's POV

I have to admit when Leigh said we were going out I was shocked well the clubs part anyway. That's not like her at all but I'd not complain what better way to spend a Friday night than with a friend getting drunk. I walked upstairs and put on my new clothes and some high heels and curled my hair making it look really nice then put make up on and went back down to see Leigh sat waiting. "Sure we're only going Nando’s?" I laugh as Leigh stands up. "Yeah why?" Leigh replies picking up her bag and walking to the door. "Nothing you just look nice." I say as she looks at herself. "Come-on I need food!" Leigh exclaims. When we get to Nando’s my parents are there. "Happy birthday gem!" My mum says handing me a card and present. My dad does the same and we order our food. We finish eating pay and my mum and dad leave. We get into a taxi and drive around for ages. "Ok we're good." Leigh says to the driver who pulls up at a club that well seems dead. "Can't we go somewhere else?" I ask turning to Leigh. "Shut up and walk through the door." Leigh says literally pushing me in. "Hey that was-" "surprise!" My old friends and family shout. "Fucking hell. Thanks Leigh." I say turning and hugging her. "I had help but you can thank them later." Leigh says as I walk of to say hi to everyone. 

Leigh's POV

After I'd pushed Gemma into the club and she's walked off talking to people I decided to go where the wanted boys were hiding. "Hey guy's." I say walking into the room. "Hey Leigh." Tom replies turning round. "You scrub up well." "Yeah whatever not to bad yourself parker anyhow when would you like us to say your here?" I ask looking around the room. "Erm whenever soon hopefully I want to get out of here." Nathan said from the corner. "Ok well now?" I ask walking to the door. "Yeah that's fine." Jay says standing up. I walk up to the DJ and ask for the mic. He nods and gives it me. "Ok so I've kind of got another surprise so Gemma can you come her?" I ask looking for her. When she appears I pull her up to where I'm standing. "So I thought I'd get you some entertainment so here's... The wanted." I say giving the microphone back as the boys walk out to sing invincible. They said they'd do another song later to. Gemma's face when Jay walked in was a picture she was so happy. I'm just glad something’s going right for her.
