Grayson's POV

Ethan and I were still not talking to each other and honestly, it was killing me. I wasn't used to all this. Ethan and I never went that long without talking to each other. I tried talking to him multiple times, but he would only give me short answers and he did not try to keep the conversation going at all. He was still mad at me and I did understand why. After all, I did screw up and I deserved it. I also ignored Nick for the past three days and he also tried to approach me in the cafeteria a few times, but I kept avoiding him. Especially when that girl was with him, it had my blood boiling when I saw them together.

I was sitting on a bench on campus right now and not many people were around. Ethan was taking a nap, he seemed to be doing that a lot recently for the past week. Many thoughts were going through my head right now.

I missed Ethan.

I missed my family back in New Jersey.

And...

I missed Nick.

But the most important thing for me right now, was to fix everything between Ethan and I. So I made my way back to our dorm, in hopes that Ethan had woken up by now, so I could talk to him. I really hoped he would talk to me again. Once I arrived in our room, I went towards Ethan's bed. He was still asleep, but his earphones were in. That usually meant he was awake.

"Ethan?" I shook him and he opened his eyes, an annoyed look on his face.

"Go away." He put his earphones back into his ears.

"Ethan, please. Talk to me." I begged.

"Grayson, go away." I wasn't going to let him go that easily this time. I was desperate to fix this.

"No. I won't go." I started to hug him tightly, not letting go, even when he tried to get out of my embrace.

"Let me go. Now!"

"No. Not this time, not ever."

"I'm serious, Grayson. Let me go!"

"I'm sorry, E. So sorry. I'm an asshole, I know, but please forgive me. I miss my idiot twin, I don't want to lose you." It felt good to apologize and maybe now, he would finally forgive me.

"You're right, you are an asshole."

"I'm so sorry for everything. It won't happen again, I promise." He sighed and got out of bed.

"I will forgive you. Under one condition..."

"I'll do anything, E. I just want my brother back." I begged him.

"I want you to tell me what the fuck is going on, Grayson. And I mean it." I sighed and pulled at my hair out of frustration. Of course he would demand that.

"I... Okay." I finally gave in. If I wanted Ethan to forgive me, then I also had to be truthful towards him. He deserved to know the truth, I owed him that. I was really tired of all this back and forth, so I needed to put an end to all this.

"I just want you to know, that I would never judge you, Gray." He assured me and I nodded.

Here goes nothing...

"Remember that day when I went to the library for the first time, to study?"

"I do, actually. Go on."

"Well... I met someone there." I scratched the back of my head and continued.

"And it was a boy..." I watched as his eyes widened in shock, his mouth wide open.

"Oh wow, okay..."

"We started to hang out more, not a lot, but we did see each other a few times."

"Was that where you went last week? You slept over at his dorm, didn't you?" I nodded, lowering my head. I was so ashamed of myself for not telling him the truth since the beginning.

"I did, E."

"Did you guys, you know, do anything?" I franticly shook my head, knowing what he meant by that.

"No!"

"Be truthful, Gray."

"I'm serious, E. We only, uhm, cuddled... That's it." I was surprised when I saw him crack a smile.

"That's it? How boring." Wait what. Did I just hear him correctly?

"We kissed-"

"WHAT!" He screamed.

"almost..."

"Did you want to kiss him?" I thought about that a lot and honestly, I really did.

"Yes..."

"Then why didn't you?"

"He has a girlfriend, E. Remember those two who came up to us once, after we came back from the hair salon?" He nodded.

"Nick and Lauren. They are a couple, E..."

"Wait... Did you go to that party?" I sighed and nodded, shamefully. Seemed like he still knew who those two were.

"Okay."

"I'm sorry for lying to you, E."

"I don't care anymore. As long as you tell me the truth from now on. What else happened?"

"Uhm, I almost got beat up at the party..."

"Wait what? Gray! Are you fucking kidding me? Why didn't you just tell me to go with you?"

"I'm dumb, alright? But Nick was there and saved me."

"You are fucking stupid." He slapped me over my head.

"I know..."

"Do you, you know... like him? As in more than friends? Be honest, Gray."

"I don't know. I really don't. But I do know that there are definitely feelings involed. I'm confused, E and I don't know what to do."

"Well... tell him that." I shook my head. It wasn't that easy. He was also taken, which made everything ten times harder. Just my luck.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"He has a girlfriend, E. And I don't know if I like him for sure." I left out the part about Nick being very violent.

"Do you know if it is serious between them?"

"It is." I lied.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Gray." He moved towards me and pulled me into a hug and I sighed, finally feeling content.

"I'm happy you finally opened up about everything, dude. And if you do happen to fall in love with a boy, then so be it. You can't choose who you fall in love with, so don't worry about the things you cannot control." I nodded and hugged him tighter. I always knew I could count on Ethan.

"Thank you for everything, E. I love you."

"Love you too, man. Just be honest from now on, yeah?"

"I promise. No more lies from now on." I basically told him everything. Right?

My feelings towards Nick weren't that strong yet and if I stayed away from him from now on, maybe then my feelings would also fade away.

Little did I know that wasn't the case.
