Grayson's POV
"I can't wait to go home next week. All these exams have been killing me!" I groaned. I was so stressed out right now. The holidays were finally coming up and I was so excited to go back home next week. One thing I was really bummed out about, was, not seeing Nick for a couple of weeks. We had been spending a lot of time with each other ever since we first kissed two weeks ago. Did we kiss more after that incident? Yes. Yes, we did.
My feelings for Nick were getting stronger and stronger the more time we spent with each other. He told me, that he would soon leave Lauren, so he could be with me, but honestly, I was doubting it. He looked so nervous and unsure when he told me that, so I guess I would just have to wait and see.
"Yeah, me too. What about Nick? Is he going home?" Ethan wondered.
"I think he is, but I'm not too sure. I haven't really talked to him about that." I made a mental note to myself to ask him about that later on.
"How are things between you two? Is he treating you good?" I nodded, with a big smile on my face.
"He is. I'm really happy right now, E. He makes me so happy. He is taking me on a date tonight."
"I'm happy for you, Gray. But promise me to be careful, alright? I don't want you to end up hurt because of a guy." He said with a serious expression and I nodded.
"I promise you, E."
"Speaking of the devil. Turn around." Ethan said, laughing and sure enough, two strong arms were wrapped around my waist from behind. Of course I knew who that was, so I leaned into his embrace.
"Hey, babe. What's up, Ethan." He whispered into my ear and I felt my cheeks flush red, still not used to him being so sweet towards me. It was weird being all lovey dovey infront of Ethan.
"Hey..." Ethan made a fake gagging noise and walked ahead of us.
"Where were you guys?"
"We just came back from eating fro yo." I said, looking up at him.
"I'm picking you up at 7PM today, don't forget that, babe." I shook my head and smiled up at him.
"Can't wait."
"Will you sleepover at my dorm tonight?" I thought about it for a bit, but I really didn't want to leave Ethan alone.
"I don't think so, Nick. I don't wanna leave E alone."
"Alright, another time, then." He swung his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his side, pecking my cheek afterwards. It was quiet dark out right now and not many people were in sight, so I was really happy about that.
"Are you going back home next week for the holidays?" I watched as his expression changed. He went from being happy, to being upset.
"No, I won't go home. I'll just stay here." That took me off guard a little bit. Everybody was going home for the holidays, except for Nick.
"What? Why? Don't you want to be with your family?" I asked, shocked.
"I don't know what that is, Gray."
"I don't get it. What happened?" I suddenly felt really bad. What could he possibly mean by that?
"Don't worry, it's nothing."
"Nick, please... You never tell me anything about yourself. And I'm really curious, I wanna get to know you better." I told him sincerely.
"There is nothing interesting about me, babe. Just drop it."
"Do you have any siblings that I need to know of?" He suddenly zoned off. He was clenching his fists by his side now, looking angry. Furious, even.
"I have a little brother named Dylan. He's 15 years old." He smiled a little.
"What about your parents, what are they like?"
"I don't have any parents. Can we please stop talking about this? It makes me uncomfortable." I sighed and just nodded. There were so many things left unsaid and I had so many questions left, that I wanted to ask him, but I fugured it wasn't the right time for that.
"Alright. But... Why aren't you going home? To see your little brother at least?"
"I have to work." I had to admit, I didn't believe him. I know that sounded harsh, but why should I lie?
"I want you to come home with Ethan and I." I suddenly blurted out, without thinking.
"What? Gray, why should I?"
I shrugged. "Because I want to spend the holidays with you."
"I can't come with you guys, babe. That's too much." I shook my head. There was no way I was letting him stay here all by himself, while all the others went home to their loved ones. That feeling must suck, knowing you had no family to go home back to.
"No, it's not. And also, I'm sure my mom would be happy about that." I stopped walking and grabbed his arm. I looked up at him, my eyes wide and hopeful.
"Gray, no. I can't do that. You should enjoy your time away from college with your family. I'm just a stranger." He sighed.
"Fine. Then I'll stay here, too." I knew he would give in soon.
"No, you won't. I won't let you stay here, Grayson." He demanded.
"I don't care. I'll stay here."
"No. You'll go home."
"Only if you come along, too." I stood up on my tip toes and wrapped my arms around his neck. Ethan was probably already back at campus.
"Gray, no."
"Please? For me?" I begged, biting my bottom lip.
"Alright, fine." I smiled so big and placed a deep kiss on his lips. I knew he would give in.
I was definitely not used to this. I didn't even recognize myself. Who knew I could be so... lovey dovey with someone? Let alone a boy?
But I didn't care. I was finally happy and I really hoped it would stay that way.
