How Much Do You Love Me?

You don't remember, do you? You don't remember the things I tell you, no matter how many times I repeat myself. You don't bother to learn when my next performance is, or if I have a day off.

Why?

Because you need to remember the important things.

Since when was I not your priority, but him? The man who puts you in pain, physically and mentally. The man who makes you scream until you can't anymore. What has he earned that I haven't?

You ask me how much I love you. I answer the same thing every time: "As big as the whole entire universe." But repetition gets boring-and meaningless.

Of course I love you. I can't live without you. What you don't realize, is that you carry blame too.

You ask us to stay away from them, the couple who ruined our family. The people who split us apart. Yes, they may have done that, but what role have you played in this situation anyway?

The antagonist. Someone who could bring such disaster in a life and place the fault on someone else, just so they don't have to feel it. Bring on all the pain to someone else so they don't possess it.

Sometimes pain can feel heavier than love.

So I'll ask the same question you ask me,

"How much do you love me?"
