Our community is a garden
filled with a diversity of flowers.
Some of us are beautiful,
some of us are wilted.
Some of us are roses
beautiful at first glance,
but the last thing you remember
are the thorns that prick your skin.
Yes, there are weeds that
haven't been picked.
Yes, there are flowers
that don't stand out.
But no matter what we think,
dandelions are flowers.
The 'ugly' are beautiful.
Don't pluck our petals.
Through all the hate,
remember one thing:
the pretty flowers are those
picked from the ground
first.
