"Legilimens." I whispered to no one in particular.
I ran to the hospital wing. I knew Cedric would be there. I had to see him before our relationship was erased from his mind entirely.
"I need to see Cedric." I told Madame Pomfrey when I went into the infirmary.
"Right this way, he just regained consciousness," She said kindly. "Mr. Diggory, could you leave this girl to visit your boy for a bit? I won't let it be long." Amos Diggory glared at me as he walked out from Cedric's area. I attempted to smile at him.
"Fine. He was asking for you anyways." He said coldly.
"Thank you, sir." I said, attempting to keep my cool, even though I knew what he planned to do.
"Estelle?" Cedric said my name when I sat in the chair by his bed.
"Yes, it's me. Ced, are you okay?" I held his hand.
"Recovering," He smiled weakly at me. He squeezed my hand. "You're the first to visit me besides my father."
"I would've come sooner, Viv wanted to talk to me."
"Essie, I thought that you should know, I love you." That was the moment I realized that I had to save him.
"I love you too."
"Will you stay?" He requested.
Our conversation was interrupted. "No. She has to go." Amos Diggory glared at me once again. This time I glared back.
"Excuse me?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.
"I would like to speak to my son. Alone." He said.
"Of course. As the father you have every right." I said coldly. I stood up. I knew exactly where I was going. I knew where the person I wanted would be. I ran into the great hall. I glanced around. Vivienne was sitting with George at the Hufflepuff table.
"Viv! Can we talk?"
"Sure."
"What exactly did you... hear?" I glanced nervously at George. I wondered if he knew. I didn't really want to speak.
"Then don't. It's okay, just think, and I'll answer." Vivienne said.
'Does George know?' Was my first thought. Vivienne nodded.
'This is so weird' I thought next.
"I know," Vivienne said. "Questions about Ced?"
'When, where, why, how?' I thought.
"Soon, hospital wing, Mr. Diggory heard the thing about your parents and thinks you had something to do with it, and they plan on doing a special type of obliviation that focuses on one specific memory." I took a deep breath in.
"Also, I think that's a good idea. Might be able to help."
I knew what she was talking about. Thought I wasn't thinking it directly towards her, I knew.
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
I ran down the hallway. Jackson was running towards me.
"Estelle! Have you talked to Vivienne?" He asked.
"Yes, I have. I need your help."
"With what?"
"I need to get into the Slytherin common room."
"Okay." He grabbed my hand and we started running towards the Slytherin dorms. He let me in.
"Eileen! Can you come with me?" I only ever knew one other Legilimens in my life. And it was Eileen. She prefers not to read the thoughts of those she cares about, or at all, unless it's an emergency. It was advanced magic, but Eileen was brilliant at it.
I felt her looking into my mind. She smiled at me. "Let's go." She said, still grinning. We ran towards the hospital wing.
"I'm going to look into Cedric's fathers mind. I'll see what the plan is, and then send him an image of a depressed Cedric after the obliviation happens. Hopefully it will convince him." Eileen said, walking past the Great Hall.
We arrived outside the hospital wing. Eileen had her hand on the doorknob. About to open the door to get a clearer view into Amos's mind. She stopped dead in her tracks. I saw a single tear roll down her cheek.
"We're too late." She whispered.
