You slowly stirred, opening your eyes to a confusing sight around you. You weren't in your room. You looked around, sitting up. You swung your legs over the edge of the bed, noticing a picture of Sam, Dean, and Castiel framed on a nightstand.

“Cass?” You called gently, looking to the door. With a whoosh your hair whipped around your face.

“You're finally awake.” Lucifer said with a mouthful of smirk. You growled, standing up and turning to him.

“Where's Cass?” You snarled, curling your lip up.

“Busy, he sent me to babysit.” Lucifer replied happily. You nearly spat at him.

  “You've changed.”

  “So have you.”

“Yeah, no shit.” You said, turning and walking out the door. Lucifer just rolled his eyes, sighing deeply.

You went back to your room which was surprisingly clean.. Maybe it had all be part of the nightmare. Though you wondered what Castiel was doing inside that head of his. But you took the opportunity to take a look at your hunting from a well rested perspective.

About an hour later you had marked down every inch of above ground hell and demon hang out you knew about. And still nothing. You were getting frustrated. Every lead you thought you had only led to more questions. Later that day Lucifer flew into your room, checking on both you and your work.

  “Someone's been busy.”

“Screw off.. I want Castiel back.” You snapped.

“What is your problem?” Lucifer snapped back at you. With one quick motion you were face to face with the angel.

“My problem is that you let both of my closest companions die in my arms!” You shouted at him, your nails biting into your palms. You felt the warm blood glide down to the floor.

“I didn't let them die! Hell was completely warded against me! He knew I would have come to your aid!” Lucifer yelled back, baring his teeth.

  “I. Don't. Believe you! I want Cass!”

“You want your pretty boy? Fine!” Lucifer said went limp before his limbs began shaking. Castiel’s scared eyes met with yours.

“No, no, no. This isn't right. I'm not supposed to be here.” He whispered, stumbling backwards into the wall. Your hands shook.

“Castiel… What's happened to you?” You asked, reaching a hand out. He visibly cringed.

“I.. I took them from you.. All of them. For you.” Castiel answered back, running his hands through his hair. You took a step forward.

“No! Don't get any closer.” He begged, pushing himself tightly against the wall.

“Cass.. It's alright.. It's just me…” You whispered, taking another step. His chest nearly flattened as he looked around and wildly.

“I-I just wanted to help you.” He whimpered, looking into your eyes. You reached out your hand and with a whoosh he was leaning against the opposite wall, his chest rising and falling as if he needed to breathe.

“I wanted them to stop hurting you..”

“Cass.. What are you talking about.. Stop what from hurting me?” You asked, making no move to get any closer.

“The nightmares, (Y/N).” Castiel answered, gripping his hair tightly.

“Oh no. Cass you shouldn't have done that.. They'll destroy you.”

“I'd rather them destroy me instead of you.”

  “You don't make that decision.”

“I did.” With that Lucifer was back in control, you could clearly see the regret he had for letting you see that. He stood there for a second, debating what to do.

  “Get out.” You said quietly.

  “(Y/N)-.”

“I SAID GET OUT!” You yelled, slamming the outside of your fist against the wall. Lucifer took the hint and left you alone. You collapsed onto your bed, staring at the ceiling until the burning rage stopped bubbling inside you.
