Y/N - Your Name
F/S - Favourite sweets/snack

It was early morning. The baby-blue sky was clear, and the just-risen sun has awoken all the people. As imagined, the busiest place of them all, the airport, seem as lively as it ever was. The rolling of luggage, busy conversations and thousands of footsteps could all be clearly heard, even from outside the building.
Planes arriving and leaving, in a seamlessly perfect pattern, mesmerized the children who sat and watched.

You too, watched them come and go, waiting for your dreaded 14+ hour trip to arrive. You were sat on a cold metal seat, with your backpack on your knees as it supported your tired head. Waking up so early to get here was not so easy, even if you were used to traveling by plane. Your baggage was already checked, the security already passed, and all you were doing now is waiting. Just... Waiting.
Your eyes drifted from one person to the next, then to the ceiling, the floor, the information boards, then to the person sat next to you, in search of some entertainment to focus on.

A pink-haired boy, who you have known for quite some time now. Kazuichi Souda was his name. He was a dear friend who you valued and appreciated the most. Kazuichi was always there to cheer you up and have fun with. Let's not ignore, however, all the rough times and arguments you two made it through. Some say they have never seen the two of you apart; Kazuichi, in fact, never wanted to leave your side. Perhaps, you have fallen in love with him? Who knows? Your feelings are confusing.

Your pattern of looking around - in what seemed to be a circle - was abruptly interrupted by Kazuichi poking you in the shoulder.
"Hey, Y/N, which plane are we supposed to take again?" He asked in a quieter tone than usual, knowing you were already exhausted, and not wanting to disturb the others nearby. He had prominent dark eye-bags, and almost trembling hands. His bright pink hair, more unkempt than normal.

"If you look on the sign above us, it's supposed to be the one that says it's going to that place in America I told you about..." You said. Kazuichi's hands went up and behind him to support his head as he leaned back on his uncomfortable seat. His brand new, neon-yellow, fluffy neck supporter wasn't enough. His face smushed and squished as he attempted to read the bright yellow letters on the sign.
He sighed.
"30 Minutes until boarding," He looked at you with a hopeful spark in his pink eyes. "We still have time to maybe buy a snack before boarding?"
He jolted up from his seat, and grabbed your hand to lift you, against the will of your aching legs. Your brain refused to wake-up from your half-asleep state and standing up so suddenly made your head spin.
"Woah, Y/N, you don't look so good! Are you okay?" Kazuichi asked, slightly panicking that he had made you feel sick.

"I'm fine, I'm fine..." You said, as you slowly sat back down until your head cleared up enough. Kazuichi reached his hand out to you, slowly this time, and helped you stand up again. "Let's go." You said.
Corridor after corridor, you finally reached the expensive stores the airport offered. You still found it surprising that after all the security checks, you could just buy alcohol to take on the plane afterward.
Kazuichi dragged both of your on-board luggage behind him, despite you saying you could handle your things. He refused to let you carry anything either. It was all on him.

The bright, flashy advertisements of each store you passed, hurt your eyes; the stores at the airport are adamant about you making at least one purchase before you left.
There were a lot of restaurants too, but the only one you'd have time to order from would be McDonald's. They were serving the morning menu, so nothing you were interested in.
Eventually, Kazuichi chose a store that sells mostly sweets and other cute things such as plushies, targeted for kids so they would beg their parents to spend the last of their holiday money on them.

Each kind of candy was in neat and ordered rows, stacked on shelves individually or on large piles on top of one another. There was a lot to pick from, yet Kazuichi went straight for your favorite '(F/S)'.
"Are you sure you wanna buy these?" You asked him with uncertainty, "I know you don't like these as much as I do."
"W-what? Who said I didn't like them!?" He sputtered.
"You did? Last week, when I asked you about them before you knew they were my favorite."
You gave him that certain look you always do when you know he's lying. He sighed.
"Well, I thought I'd give them another chance!" Kazuichi rubbed his shoulder in reassurance, his face turned a slight shade of pink when you caught his nervousness.

You took the F/S out of his hands and stepped to the till to buy it, although Kazuichi stayed behind, looking at the plushie section. There was a variety of brands and animals, from TY large-eyed kittens to stranger brands you did not know the name of.
You watched him stand there. He picked up each kind gently, examined them carefully, and put them down. You walked up to him and put your hand on his shoulder.
"What are you looking at?" You asked.

Kazuichi jumped. He did not hear your approach due to the business outside of the shop, and due to him being so lost in thought over a green-eyed TY kitty. He quickly put it on the shelf, in hopes of you not noticing he had it in his hand in the first place.
"Oh, just thinking of building something with them, maybe, an animal robot!?"
Lies.

You decided not to embarrass him further and you two walked out of the store. You had a good few minutes to spare before boarding, but you decided not to risk it and walked back to your gate.

Arriving just in time, you took your tickets out and walked into the priority queue. Spending the extra money on priority would usually be stressful for you, but this time it was your mother buying the tickets. She had no trouble spending money your wealthy family had.
Yet, you decided not to share this with Kazuichi, since you knew of his poorer background. No need to divide you two due to the amount of money you had in the bank. It might be awkward trying to explain how all this time your family was affluent, when Kazuichi always saw you as a decently-dressed, generous, middle-class girl, however.

As you stepped onto the large plane, Kazuichi gulped and trembled. This trip wouldn't be the best for his motion sickness, so you made sure you were sat at the front. The stewardesses were already aware of his condition, so you knew help would be quick if something was to happen to him.
The two of you sat in your seats, which were much more comfortable than the metal ones the airport offered. You could not help but make yourself comfortable and stretched yourself out. There was a lot of legroom, and a comfortable amount of space to move around.
However, Kazuichi just sat there. He stared at nothingness in front of him, as if in a trance.

You stared at him, for quite some time, before he looked up. Then, he turned to you, almost tearing up. A loud gulp from came from him before he made himself look confident by smiling and laughing just slightly.
"We sure are on an airplane!" The nervousness coming from his voice could easily be told.
You nodded, and asked, "Are you anxious?"
"Anxious? Me? It's just a ride on a massive machine, you know I love those!"
"Look, Kazuichi, I'm not going to judge you if you are, I'm always worried about flights, even if I went on plenty before!" You said, trying to reassure him.
"You can always hold my had if you're anxious, Kazoo"
"H-hold your hand..," He pondered for a while before turning slightly more pink than usual, "No, no, I am a man! I can handle a simple plane ride, buuuuuuut, if you're scared, you can always hold my hand!"

He offered his (rather sweaty) hand to you, amusingly, you accepted.
Kazuichi did not expect this, so he quickly turned his face the other way, and you could almost hear him hyperventilating. He was probably just stressing out. "Dude, I know you're freaking out about this, just try and focus on something in your head that you like, and aren't scared of, and keep thinking about it. It will be over before you know it." You said.

After the long instructional guide from a lovely blonde stewardess, the plane came to a start. Kazuichi trembled and already began to turn a sickly shade of green.

This wasn't going to be an easy flight.
