"how excited are you?" erica squealed as she turned the corner, seeing her best friends in their lockers.

"for math? not very," sarah huffed. alexis closed her locker and leaned against it, kicking her foot up and crossing her arms.

"hello? vampire halloween party? how cool does that sound?" she grinned, genuine cheer in her voice.

"that's true," alexis spoke out, "a party has sounded nice recently. and that's coming from me."

"a lot cooler than "babysitting because i need money,"" sarah replied.

erice gasped and stood up straight, "no. you're not! this is our first vampire halloween party!"

"well, if i explain it to ethan's mom that way, i'm sure she'll give me the night off," sarah joked, rolling her eyes.

"it was gonna be great!" erica cried.

"maybe, but not as awesome as the night where i dressed up as butter and you were salt and we did the popcorn dance at the theatre?" sarah passionately spoke, dancing over to erica. "pop, pop, pop!"

"corn, corn, corn," erica continued, dancing with her.

"six bucks for a small!" the two sang in unison. alexis's face grew surprised at the sight.

sarah kept her smile while erica dropped hers quickly. "don't try to cheer me up. i am grumpy."

alexis let out a laugh, erica walking off quickly.

alexis showed up as a medieval elf, knowing she liked it but she knew benny would probably like it better than she did. she was satisfied.

"arriba!" benny, who was dressed between a mixture of a mexican wrestler and merlin, shouted, pushing through ethan's front door. alexis rolled her eyes and closed the door behind them.

the couple walked up to ethan and sarah, ethan dressed as a vampire from dusk, sarah was dressed as the girl from dusk.

"who are you supposed to be?" ethan asked benny, getting a clear sight of what alexis was.

benny shook his blue cape covered in stars, explaining his character's story. "well, i couldn't decide between merlin and a mexican wrestler, so i picked both!" alexis chuckled, as long as he was happy, she was. "say hola! to el merlo loco, the wizard-wrestler, who combines the best of the ARCANE and the INSANE!"

"hey whitechapel. are you ready to party?" a girl dressed as a space-themed rocker girl, a guitar around her neck as she played it.

"wow. compared to this, srica's traditional vampire halloween is starting to sound like a blast," sarah sarcastically said, clearly uninterested in the party.

alexis picked through the large bowl of candy, eating certain pieces of sweets she found interesting while benny sat beside her at the counter, ethan sitting on the other side.

"hm. green ones don't taste as green as they used to," ethan muttered, jane walking up. she was dressed as a cat.

"hey! you're supposed to take me trick-or-treating! let's go! time is candy!"

"okay, okay. don't get your whiskers in a knot," ethan chewed.

"can i come with you? girl-illa won't stop flirting with me," benny muttered, pointing at the girl.

"what? why haven't you told me!" alexis yelled out, giving benny an offended look that he didn't tell her. she stood up abruptly, turning around. "i can make her."
