Mark's Point of View
As we entered the forest, a chill ran down my spine, something was wrong. And then I froze.
"They dragged me inside the forest as I screamed and trashed trying my best to escape from them but the tight grip they had on my wrist was too strong for me to scape, they stopped for a moment a hopefully thought crossed my mind, it was crushed in less than a second. As a rugged fist collided with my face, cracking my nose, the blood started streaming, going down and finally getting to my now dirty clothes. You cannot escape from this. The oh so familiar voice that resides on my head taunted.
My knees gave up on me, the branches cracked under me as my pressure broke them when they collided with my knees. Just like their necks. I started gripping my nose as if it would help take my pain away. The man whose eyes were now dark, full of malice, rage, and impatience. Gripped my hair harshly, so now I looked directly at his eyes, he snarled as his grip tightened "Behave, I don't have time to deal with you" he snarled at me "Why should I?" I said faking confidence. The wrong move I am afraid. His palm made its way across my face, the sound sickening to me but I could he was enjoying it, my eyes widened as I recognized the bloodlust reflected in his eyes. As it was once reflected in my own eyes. I shivered as the fear started crippling down my bones.
He started hitting me, you deserved don't you, after all, you did the same to them, didn't you?. A tear fell down my eyes, I started gripping the earth below me, I raised my head, he was going to kill me. I thought on fear. And I saw darkness."
I gasped for air. My heart beating fast, I could only hear the beat of my racing heart. Then I remembered, I froze in terror and my eyes widened in fear as I was expecting the next hit. It took me a while to let the thought that it wasn't real, sink in my brain.
Someone called my name desperately, making me realize that I was lying in the ground, with Kayla in her knees by my side and everyone else was making a circle around me, their eyes reflecting worry. Was it a dream?. No, it couldn't be, it felt real, too real for my own taste. Then what was it?. I shivered as I exited from my thoughts, someone was shaking my shoulders, as my eyes focused I realized it was Kayla, my sister.
"What happened?" She demanded, her eyebrows were squished together in worry and she was biting her lip. The others on similar postures. I took on my surroundings and a dreading feeling took over my body as I realized this was the same place where the events of that dream-like thing happened. I couldn't breathe. My concentration was going off, I could barely make out what Kayla said. My vision started getting blurry by the second. I started seeing darkness. As I was losing consciousness, I thought how sickening familiar was this to the dream. I saw darkness.

"Give him some space" she snapped, much more harshly than expected, "Kayla, I can help" said Inés in a soothing voice, Kayla's tense shoulders relaxed as she whimpered an okay.

My heart was pounding in my ears. What happened?. My head started to pound as well. I groaned. I felt someone coming and sitting at my side. I felt a dripping towel settle on my forehead. Cold water, running down my forehead. I concentrated on the patterns in my face made by drops of water.
I opened my eyes slowly. The sudden light blinding me. Kind dark red-brown eyes greeted me when I finally could see. I groaned again. The pain hitting me like a thousand bricks. My wrists hurt like hell. My head was pounding. And I felt like I was beaten up.
"Are you okay?" Asked the kind dark red-brown eyes, but as I focused more I realized that it was Inés. "In all honesty, I feel like shit" I chuckled. She smiled softly at me. And touched my forehead searching for my temperature."You're burning" her face turning into a frown. "Where are we?" I demanded a little agitated, as I took our surroundings. I saw trees, too many trees for us to be in town. "We are in the forest of the dead remember?" Her soothing voice responded. And then I remembered the dream-like thing. And I felt how my throat closed. "What happened?" her eyebrows squinted in confusion. I hesitated for a moment "I-I I'll tell you later, yes I'll tell you later". She seemed to find something in my response because she smiled softly "Of course, tell me when you are comfortable".
"Where's my sister?" My eyes widening in panic as I realized my sister was nowhere near in sight. She chuckled "She's at the lake with Jason and Lira". My brows turned into a frown "Why?". "They went for more water you were and still you are burning on fever" I was gonna say something when I heard someone scream my name. I quickly turned my head to the source of the sound. Finding my sister running to get to me. She settled beside me. "Are you okay?" She said panting. "Overall yes, but my wrists hurt like hell" I complained. She smacked the back of my head. "The fuck!? What was that for?!" I glared angrily at her. "For scaring the shit out of all us" she said scolding me.
"Wait, what happened?" I tilted my head confused. Her icy blue eyes softened. "When we entered the woods you froze for a moment, and then you kept walking, guiding us here" "What?" this was unbelievably, "You heard what your sister said" I looked up to see Jason's kind dark green eyes, some of his hazel hair was falling in his eyes, his face was turned into a frown as if trying to solve an impossible puzzle. "Yeah, and then you suddenly fell down to the floor, when we crouched beside you, you were knocked out and sweating even tho you were cold as ice" Kayla elaborated further. I was getting confused and terrified, as I realized that the dream probably wasn't a dream but a vision, a flashback or even worse a warning. I swallowed, as I started to feel my hands sweat in panic.
"And then you woke up in panic for a few seconds, until you were knocked down again, but know you were burning with fever and we got even more worried about you, Inés here, told us to find a lake and get some water to cool you down. So, Jason, Kayla and me went in search of it. And Kiara went to scout the surroundings with Kai and Laika, to find a way out of the woods because we got lost following you and then you woke up" she finished.
"Where is Kiara by the way?" I heard Inés soft voice question full of worry for the raven-haired girl. Jason opened his mouth to respond, but whatever he had to say died in his throat when he saw something behind me. A dog's bark was heard. "Kiara!!!" I heard Inés scream. As she took off running. I quickly looked at me. My throat closed and my heart started picking pace. Kiara was there bruised and covered in blood, limping to get to us. At her side Kai and Laika offering some support. "Well, what a good day isn't it?" she chuckled and groaned in pain. Inés put her hands on her shoulders and asked her what the hell happened "I am fine princess" she responded with difficulty. Kai and Laika were beside their respective owners. And then she collapsed in Inés arms. "Quick get some water she's burning up" Inés said trying to lay down Kiara. "Of course" Jason responded and passed the water bottle and the towel to her as quickly as he could. Inés thanked him and started to take care of Kiara. Lira, Inés little sister, whispered something in her ear receiving a nod from Inés as Jason sat beside her.
Lira's really pale blue almost gray eyes turned to look at me. She raised an eyebrow as if asking me if I needed something. I quickly inclined my head saying I was fine. She nodded understanding. Kayla sited on her knees beside me. Touching my forehead. You are still burning" she sighed "I know, this is one hell of a trip" I said trying to light up the tense atmosphere. Kayla chuckled "Yeah" she agreed. I felt my eyes closing as the pain and fever started weighing my body down. Kayla saw me trying to fight the sleep, and put my head in her lap caressing my hair. Lulling me to sleep. As I was getting lost in the realm of dreams, I thought of what meant the vision, I had before. And then I lost consciousness.
The forest full of secrets awaits to be uncovered, but in this dark world, everything has a price. And the shadows of the forest are hungry for revenge.
