I took a sip of my warm, creamy coffee. The breeze is warmer as the December's but still, it made me feel shiver, cold. Taking another sip, hoping my life could get any better, far from this Cinderella story, with her still not meeting her Prince charming. How I wish I could escape reality in a snap, like how lucid dreamers build their own world in their dreams. I want to live a fantasy, without any catastrophe. But it was so hard

I took another sip, take a look of the trees from the balcony of my room, it felt nice living here, comfortable and fancy. I got my things with a value that can afford low-class people's weekly food supply. I am well-dressed and properly fed. I don't lack money, I have lots actually but above all this, something's dominant inside me, emptiness.

I was about to sip one more time, but the mug that was once full, is now empty and there's nothing left but stain right inside it. I took a deep sigh. Someone's arm wrapped around my shoulders, handing me another mug of one.

"Thanks for this" as I took it from his hand. I closed my eyes as the smell of a newly brewed mug of coffee track down the passage inside my nose. It's different from the last one I drank, but it will still taste fine, I hope so

Slowly caressing my arm, still not letting go of his grip, Isaac smiled at me, then back to the stars above. We watched how the stars spread to the skies, and wonder how they disappear soon as the day comes? Was there any way my pile of problems be like them? "I know you would like it here" he said proudly

"I guess you really did" I nodded

"Well, my duties are to know you for who you really are"

Memories came rushing down my mind like a river, I looked for a way how to stopped it but I guess I'm no Lord to done such so I just let it flow until it reached the seas, the wide sea where it's mixed with another memories, and another, and another.

"Duties well-fulfilled then" I let out a small laugh then smiled

"Thank you Kat for coming to our lives, my life" he looked at me with sincerity

"You're welcome" I faked a smile

"There are still cakes in the fridge. Would you mind drinking that liquid with a slice of brown, fattening cake?" he hopefully asked

"As if I have a choice?"

Years passed and I don't think I'm the same as I was

"Nasan ka na Katrina?" Isaac called me over the phone.

I'm busy driving myself on my way to the office. Bwisit! Malayo na nga sa syudad may traffic pa rin!

"I'm stuck in a traffic Isaac! Chill your balls down!"

"Ano ba yang bunganga mo! Katrina Kaye Ludivice ayusin mo buhay mo ah!" bakit para siyang tatay na nanenermon sa teen ager niyang anak?

"Excuse me, Mr. Ludivice ayusin mo rin buhay mo! Gantong stuck ako ditto badtrip!"

"Buti nga" I heard him whispered and if I'm not mistaken, giggle

"Anong sinasabi mo?"

"Wala! Drive safely! I love you" at pinatayan niya na ako ng phone.

I put my phone back to my bag then I combed my mid-length, ebony black hair. Pagkatapos nang ilang taong papalit-palit ng kulay ng buhok, I finally settled, I want to keep it black like the way it was back then, at least I have something to remind me of the past me
