Chapter seven

Dru’s POV

“OW!” I yelled as Emery ripped the wrap from my back. Which happened to be taped down. I looked at my back in the mirror. As dad applied the ointment. The vamp had beat me to the point skin had broke. And a cut had gotten infected. “It’s ozzing.” Em stated as I waved my hand in front of my nose. “You opened up the sewer Em.” I reminded him. “Guys shut up!” Ryder yelled who happened to have a hangover. Dad snorted and taped it back up. “I’m taking you to the ER.” He said pulling his shirt off and handing it to me. “I’ll drop you off.” let me know when your done.” He said leading me to his Camaro.

“I’m in need of some help.” I said to the nurse. “It’s the ER for a reason dear. What’s wrong?” she asked. I lifted up my shirt and spun around. “It’s infected and smells like a sewer.” I told her. “I’ll get a doctor. Name?” she asked. “Emilia.” I lied handing over a fake insurance card. She took it and led me to a small curtain enclosed space. I heard a woman gasp in the space next to me. I ran over and saw she was VERY pregnant. “My water broke.” She told me. I took her hand. “Breath.” I ordered as a contraction hit. “HEY PREGNANT LADY HERE HER WATER BROKE!” I bellowed over her screaming. A nurse came running. “How old are you?” I asked the pregnant girl as the nurse checked everything. “nineteen.” She said. I smiled. “Good luck.” She chuckled. “You too.” She was wheeled off and I was yanked back into my space.

“Change into this.” The doctor said holding a robe out. “Rather not.” I told him yanking my shirt up and used it to cover my chest. He peeled off the Makeshift Bandage. “It’s leaking puss.” He stated. “Nice observation.” I snapped. “I’m going to use a needle to suck out all the Puss.” He told me. I rolled my eyes. “Figured that one out myself.” The puss sack had been putting pressure onto my spine. I felt the pressure ease away slowly. “That feels good.” I moaned pressure no longer on my spine. He chuckled “Alright. Now I’ going to clean it. this might sting.” I hissed as he practically poured half a bottle of peroxide down my back. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.” He told me. “Yhea. yhea.” I snapped and hissed in pain again.

When he came back he handed me a bottle of pills. “Take one and a half till there are all gone.” He told me. I signed a paper. “Now while I re stitch this you mind telling me how you got this?” he asked. “Fist fight. Think I’m bad you should see the other guy.” I joked. “What over?” he asked. “I hustled him in pool.” I told him. “Two hundred.” He chuckled and helped me off the table. “Try to be careful.” He said I nodded and walked away trying not to bump into anyone.

I limped over to a bus stop and called my dad. “Hey baby girl how’d it go?” he asked. “Twenty two stitches.” I told him. “And antibiotics.” “Okay I’ll see you in a few.” He forgot to ask where I was so I texted him seeing a park across the road I sat on a swing and closed my eyes listening.

“You know it isn’t safe out here all alone.” A voice said behind me. I pulled my gun out pointing it at them. “I’m not alone I have Bella.” I said stuffing my gun in my back waistband. “You named your gun?” he asked me. “I’ve had her since I was ten. That’s what you get for having a paranoid ex-marine for a father.” I said sitting down. “okay now I’m scared to meet the guy.” He laughed. “No worries. My dad’s a giant Teddy bear, most of the time. just don’t get on his bad side.” I joked. He’ll most likely never met my father. I heard Led Zeppelin pounding in the speakers of a nearby car. I saw my dad’s car pull up to the bus stop I was at when I called him. he cursed when he didn’t see me and got out of the car.

“Drella!” he yelled. “Over here daddy! I’ll be there in a minute.” I promised. “see you later Fang.” I pulled his face level with mine and kissed his cheek. I walked up to my dad and got splashed with holy water. I spit it out at the ground. “Thanks for the refresher idiot.” I snapped getting in the car he smacked me upside the head and I crawled over to him and we started wrestling in the front seat. “Dru get off me!” dad ordered. I blew a raspberry in his face. Finally he threw me off him and put the car in gear. I smiled sweetly at him as he wiped the spit off his face. “You are defiantly my daughter.” He grumbled taking a swing from his flask.
