I go to my room, throw my bag aside and stand in the middle of the room. I decided to try and summon my wings, there's 2 hours until Christopher will come pick me up.
I stand there and close my eyes. I breathe in from my nose as out from my mouth, slowly. Okay, you can do this Selene.
"You know it won't work like that right?" Mom says from the door, I open my eyes and look at her. "You have to think about something or someone you love dearly, or think about your favourite landscape. Just think of things that give you positive emotions." She says.
"Alright." I reply. She leaves, shutting the door behind her.
I close my eyes again and think about that morning when I went hiking. That beautiful sunset, how the view looks. Christopher WAIT WHAT.
Butterflies fill my stomach and I feel my cheeks take on a shade of pink. How the corners of his eyes turn slightly up when he smiles.
Everything about him is just... Wonderful. I guess I do like him, but only in these few days? Isn't it too fast?
I open my eyes, still thinking about him. I turn around and there they are. My wings.
I gasp. "Wow...." I breath in awe, Their beautiful. They're white and they are very prominent, they don't look at all like Jason or moms wings, they look more like and Angels wings. They're heavy and full of white feathers. I touch them lightly, it feels like two extra limbs I never new I had.
"Mom" I yell. "I did it."
She comes through the doors and stares in awe. "No..." She says stepping forward, she looks frightened. "I... I was afraid this would happen." She says.
"Afraid what would happen?" I ask.
"Your father, he was a silver-blood." She explains. "It is forbidden for a red and silver-blood to marry. You are a mix of Silver and Red." She gulps.
".....okay? So why is it so frightening?" I ask. "You have a bad side to you. A side that hasn't some out yet, but once it does, you will lose control over the real you and you will have a desire to kill red-bloods... Just like your father." She whispers the last part. So my father was a silver-blood, I'm both silver and red, I will basically become psycho like my father, and my own mother is afraid of me.
"You... I know what to do." She says, then she dashes out of the room. I look turn back around and look into the mirror.
I can kill my own brother and mom if I lost control, I could turn into a monster.
A minute later mom returns with a jade necklace, it intertwines ant the top and meets at the bottom. The bottom is sharp, with a yellow tint to it.
"Put this on. I got this from your grandma just in case Jason or you were mixed." She holds it to my neck, I take off my original necklace and put on the one my mom gave me. "This will help you contain a lot of your silver-blood side but it won't contain all of it. As you get older, you will become stronger. Never ever ever... Ever take this off. Understood?"
"Y-yes." I reply. First the Fable thing and now this? What's next? I have a pet dragon I will meet when I turn 22?
Things just get weirder and weirder. At this point, I wish I would wake up from this horrid dream.
"Honey, I know this is a lot. It was a lot for me too when I was your age." She says, putting her hands in my shoulders.
"Mom, you never did tell me how you met dad." I say.
"Well, sit down and I'll tell you everything from the beginning." She says gesturing to my bed. As I walk to the bed, I try to put my wings away.
Go away
I command them and they do. I sit down facing mom, pulling my legs up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them.
"We met at 14, I didn't know what Fables were. We met at a park in the late night, he looked wonderful. I hated him at first but we became friends soon and I developed feelings for him, we both confessed and I invited his family to my house for dinner. By that time we were 16." She says. "When our families met, there was this strange tension. Me and him didn't know what to do so we asked our parents that night. They explained to me how we are red-blooded and how your father is silver-blooded. He said it is and always will be forbidden to marry one. I was angry, I told your father everything and we both decided to pretend we weren't together. But on the inside, we loved each other truly and would meet every other midnight on a hillock." She says, her eyes tearing up.
"When I turned 28, he proposed and I accepted. We ran away from there, to Canada. A few years later you and Jason were born. Your father and I were overwhelmed with joy, but it didn't last long. Something clicked inside of him and he had the sudden urge that he'd been controlling all those years, come out. He wanted to kill all of us, but before he could, he left with all his belongings. I don't know if he's still alive or not but one thing that I do know is that he left because he wanted us to be safe." She says, a single tear running down her cheek and on her lap.
I hear the doorbell ring and a minute later Jason yells, "Selene, your friends here!"
"You should go, Selene." She says. She then gets up and goes to her room.
I walk down the stairs after applying a thin layer of makeup.
Christopher sits on he couch in the living room, talking with Jason.
"Hey," I say stepping into the living room. "Hey, ready to go?" He asks.
"Yes I guess," I reply. I'm still a bit taken back from all the info that's been shoved into my brain.
He nods and gets up. We both walk outside together and his phone rings. "Hey, do you mind if a friend of mine comes along? He asks. "Of course!" I reply, good thing he's getting some other people to come along cause this would have been awkward as heck.
We both sit in the car and he starts driving, An awkward silence engulfing us.
He clears his throat. "So... D-do you have a boyfriend?" He asks out of the blue. "No." I reply with a laugh like its a silly question.
"Really? It's just that you're so pretty, I'm surprised you don't." He says. I just stare at him. "I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
"You think I'm pretty of all people?" I ask, shock lacing my voice. "Well if you didn't know, all the guys in the school are crushing on you. Oh and Taylor envies you like hell." He replies.
"Why does she envy me? I mean she's way better then I can ever be." I say rolling my eyes. He stays quiet, I guess he agrees.
He turns onto a driveway, the house is huge. I know that our house is a mansion but this is a castle.
He dials a number and calls. "Yeah, hey, We're outside..." He says. He nods and puts the phone down. Then his phone rings and he answers the call. "Yeah mom, WHAT???!!" He yells into the phone. "Okay fine." He sighs, hanging up.
"Taylor is coming with us," he sighs. I practically jump out of the car. "But why?" I ask deadpanned.
"Well she unexpectedly showed up at my house and my mom can't say no." He answers with a groan.
The door to the mansion/castle opens and a figure steps out, the figure walks to the car and gets inside. "Hey," He says. "Hi, Selene, this is Stephen. Stephen, this is Selene." Christopher introduces. I turn around and Christopher turns the cars lights on.
It's Mystery Boy from my visions/nightmare.
"Nice to meet you," I say, pretending like I've never met him before. "You're new here right?" He asks. "Yeah, I moved here from Canada a few weeks ago." I answer.
Christopher begins to drive off the driveway and heads to his house, I'm guessing, to pick up Taylor.
"We have to pick up Taylor." Christopher tells Stephen. I hear Stephen groan, they talk until we get to Christopher's house but I just stay silent.
He parks on the driveway and right away, Taylor walks outside, she  waves at Christopher and glares at me.
"Hey I don't wanna sit beside Taylor." Stephen says, panicking as Taylor gets closer. "Go to the back." Christopher orders, I do as he says. Great, now I'm stuck with Stephen and Taylor is sitting with Christopher. Just great.
Christopher drives off his driveway and drives towards the arcade, I guess even in the mountains people need to have an arcade.
An awkward silence engulfs us all. Taylor of course, breaks the silence. "So, Chris, where we headed." She asks in a flirtatious tone.
"The arcade. And how many times have I told you to call me Christopher and not Chris. Only my friends can call me Chris. And you are not my friend." He answers.
"I know, I'm sorry. I should call you babe." She says.
"No. We are not together. I don't like you, at all. So you can't call me anything other then Christopher." He says.
I side glance at Stephen, he's looking out the window, completely ignoring the argument between Chris and Taylor.
"Shut up!" I yell at them both.
"Taylor, you'll have to get off if you continue like this." I continue. "Thank you, Selene." Says Stephen.

~le time skip to arcade~
We all enter the arcade, the arguments tension still looming around us.
Immediately, a crane catches my eye. Christopher seems to notice me looking at it and smirks. "I bet you won't be able to win anything from that." He says. "Let's see who will win, Both of us get one shot."
I nod and we both make out way to the crane, Taylor and Stephan following close behind. "Ladies first." He says bowing and gesturing to the crane. I giggle, put some money in the machine and grip the handle. This'd better work if I want to impress Stephen. WAIT WHAT??!! WHY DO I WANNA IMPRESS HIM??!
I shake my head and focus on the crane. I move it around and press the button which makes the crane go down. Of course I didn't win anything.
I groan in defeat. "My turn!" Christopher says, he puts some money in and grips the handle. He looks so cute when he's focusing! WAIT WHAT!!!???
He pushes the red button, the crane comes back up with a stuffed bunny. "Nice," I say. I am very competitive I have to admit but, I am happy he won.
"I knew Christopher would win! He is the best anyways!" Taylor gushes about Chris. I glance at Stephen who watches me with a blank expression. I don't feel uncomfortable under his gaze, though I would if it was someone else.
"I would like to give this bunny to..." Christopher says smiling. Of course he's gonna give it to Taylor.
I see Taylor put her hands to her cheeks like she's just been proposed to by a prince. "Selene." He says sticking his tongue out at an angry Taylor, she crosses her arms in front of her chest as Chris gives the bunny to me. "You're so sweet, Christopher." I say as a take the bunny from him. "Please, call me Chris." He replies.
This makes Taylor's blood boil since Chris always tells Taylor she can't call Christopher Chris.
I glance at Stephen who looks a bit jealous. "Someone's jelly!" Chris teases Stephen. "Am not." He answers.
"Well I'm going home." Taylor says, she heads towards the door, glancing back. Does she think one of us is going to stop her.
For once since I met Taylor, I see hurt on her face and I feel bad. Who knows how long she's been trying to get Chris?

The rest of the night goes amazing, all 3 of us play a bunch of arcade games and Chris and Stephen sorta competed a few times to see if they could get me a better prize. I was a bit flustered, I have to admit, they both are so sweet.

I have decided to enter this book into the Open Novella Contest.
I don't care if I win or not, I just want to try. I know I'm not gonna win especially with trash like this, anyways, please vote and share. I need all the feedback I can get.
Oh and I have a question, if you were Selene, would you pick Christopher or Stephen?
I want to know your answers.
Thanks for reading and have a radiant day.
