I follow Yoongi to one end of the market place and even though I drill him with questions about what he has planned, he doesn't give in and just raises his index finger and tells me: "Confucius says patience is key."
"You quoted that a bit freely, don't you think?"
"Ah, Jayeon, shut your whiny ass already, we're there", Yoongi retorts, pretending to be annoyed and rolling his eyes.
I look around us and still don't quite understand what we're doing here. We're standing in front of a grocery store at one end of the market place and Yoongi gets ready to go to the back yard of the building.
"Are you sure that we're allowed to be here?", I ask him as I walk after him.
"Just relax, Jayeon" he smiles at me "You should stop asking so many questions. Besides, I told you that I don't care about the rules."
I shrug to myself and follow him. When I reach the back of the building, Yoongi is just pulling down the emergency staircase that is attached to the back of the building.
"Yoongi-", I start, but he shushes me with a gesture.
"This is going to be fun, just trust me", he reassures me and maybe it's because of the alcohol that I'm not used to or maybe it's because it's late in the night, but I'm not worried about getting caught anymore, so I follow Yoongi as he climbs up the stairs, but not without complaining.
"I didn't remember signing up for a training as an intelligence agent..."
"I swear this girl just won't stop grumbling", Yoongi sighs from above in a disapproving tone to mock me. I manage to slap his leg in response.
Yoongi reaches the flat roof of the grocery store first and climbs onto it effortlessly, as if he was born to climb the roofs of grocery stores in the middle of the night.
Finally, I reach the end of the staircase too.
I climb onto the roof next to him and he catches me as I hop down from the ledge and onto the concrete of the flat roof.
We stalk across the roof and sit down at the verge of it. Our feet dangle over the ledge and we can look over the big marketplace and the whole funfair.
The lights of the rides, lottery stalls and food stands brighten up the night and it feels as if we are looking down on a sea of colourful stars.
"Wow, Yoongi, that is soo beautiful", I breathe in awe, not able to take my eyes off the sight.
I almost expect to hear one of those cheesy "Do you want to know what's even more beautiful" jokes, but thankfully Yoongi just nods in agreement and intertwines his hand with mine silently.
"I can't believe we're really doing this. This is so crazy", I laugh silently "I think I haven't had so much fun in all my life... I probably should break the rules more often."
"Since you're new to that venture, I believe you should only attempt at doing so under my professional guidance", Yoongi argues and winks at me.
"Right", I nod with a grin and look back at the funfair.
I lean my head on his shoulder and we sit like that in peaceful silence for a while. Eventually, all the lights go out one after the other when the funfair closes.
Now we can see the real stars above us come out and that's at least as beautiful as the sight of the funfair lighting. Again I can't do much more than marvel at the sight.
"Thank you for bringing me here and showing me all of this, Yoongi", I whisper, afraid that I could scare the stars away if I talked too loudly.
Yoongi turns his head and his face is close to mine as he says: "You're a special person so you deserve a special treatment."
