He's such a sweetheart. He's so innocent. He's the opposite of the rest of the team. They're all douche-bags in there own little ways. But not Watari. He's to pure for this world. But you always had this thought in the back of your mind that he was to good for you. You never thought someone like you deserved him, it wasn't that you where a bad person, you just felt your presence brought his down.
You smiled as you walked up to him. He was standing outside the the restaurant that he had made reservations for. "Hey (f/n)" he greeted as he hugged you. He was always happy to see you, and made you feel wanted, it made you feel needed. The two of you made your way to you table, and the waiter gave your dinks and meals.
"So how was your week?" He started making idle small talk with you, you proceeded to tell him how you where doing and what was going on, what ever you could to keep the conversation going. But that small part of your mind kept telling you that he could do better, that you weren't worth his time. You frowned as you played with the food on your plate with a fork.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" He asked, concern filled his voice and eyes as he waited for your response. You shook your head, "no it's nothing." You said with a sad smile, but he saw right through you. "(F/n) I can tell something is bothering you." He said sternly, it was weird for him to be so serious about something, he always so light hearted and nice about everything. "I just....why do you like me? Why did you ask me out?" You asked looking up at him, making eye contact with him. You've never seen him look so confused and scared in all the time you two had been together. "Why would you ask me that? I don't like you, I love you, you're perfect." He stated as he continued to stare at you. You smiled, but you still weren't satisfied. "But you could do so much better, you're so nice to everyone, and I'm not, you're so patient and understanding, and I get mad easily and jump to conclusions, Shinji why me? Why did you pick me to date and someone as perfect as you are?" You asked, your smile fading the more you spoke. "(F/n) answer me this, would Yin and Yang exist if everyone was always picking partners just like them? Would anyone enjoy life if everyone hung out with everyone the same as them? I picked you because you're different, you're funny, you make snarky remarks that I'd never have the heart to say but I love them when you say it, you're clumsy, you stay up late watching TV, if I dated someone like me, we wouldn't have our late night conversations because she would be asleep before 10pm. (F/n) I wouldn't be as happy as I am today if someone else was sitting in front of me instead of you." He said as he placed his hand on the table signaling for you to take it. "I don't want to marry someone by the book like I am, I want to marry someone who knows how to get me out of my shell, to live a little, so what if you can be rude, so what if you jump to conclusions, I can set you right, you aren't like me you're right, (Y/n) you're so much more. You are you're own kind of perfect." He finished as he squeezed your hand.
You didn't mean to cry. But you couldn't help it, out of everything you had been through in your life, it was suffice to say he was the best thing to have happened. "Nobody has ever been so nice to me before......Shinji.....I don't know what to say.." You where speechless. "I do." He smiled. "What?" You asked as you wiped some of your tears with your free hand.
"I love you."
Oh my goodness, I know I know very lovey dovey, but hey even if it comes from an anime character or your real partner, what is said in this chapter is completely 100% true, everyone is perfect in their own ways. I don't care if you murder people in video games because you don't want to go to jail for murdering actual people, or if you help the homeless, every person of this earth is amazing, ok maybe not every person, Trump is pretty sucky, but you get my drift.
