Hamilton's POV
She didn't know what to expect for that night. Was it all just a cruel trick, entertaining him until school started again. Or did he actually want to be her friend. Why would he suddenly want to be her friend? After all these years of teasing in a not so funny way. She had looked into the abyss sometimes because of that man. Why?
Every so often she cursed her brain for being so inquisitive.
But there was no time for that no, getting closer to 4:30 by the minute and she still needed to pull herself out of bed.
No, she most definitely hadn't went and layed back down after he left.
Nope.
Sighing, once, she forced her feet onto the ground and her body followed soon. She shivered; her blanket - a present from Lafayette from France that his mother made for her - was amazing and her room wasn't that bad because she had the top room where all the heat rose to - she did that on purpose - but she didn't want to move from her bed.
She liked her bed.
However, Alex forced herself to get ready, pulling out the long sleeve shirt that she typically wore to church whenever she went. It was a soft, Slytherin green coloured shirt that complimented her skin and hair.
The young collegian shook her head. Why did she care? Sure, he was nice now, but what about all the other years of hell he had put her through. Was she just supposed to forget that?
Alexandra thought she was going to lose one of her many valued brain cells if she kept shaking her head.
It didn't matter.
She actually went and put her hair up in a ponytail, not her bun that looked like she was homeless because she never had time to wash it, and slid on her converse. Her mother had always told her never wear shoes you can't run in.
Glancing at her phone, she realized she had five minutes till she'd be late and she always hated being late. It was basic courtesy.
She pulled on her jacket and grabbed her scarf and coat. And gloves.
She was born in the warm Caribbean tropical sun, you think she was made for this crap all the way up in New York?
By the time she flew down the stairs and to the door, Thomas was already there, waiting for her.
Once again, he surprised her. She thought he would arrive exactly on time.
She could feel his gaze on her, and fought every impulse in her to blush. Besides, even if she did, she could blame it on how could she got.
It wasn't a lie.
Mostly.
"Hey," Thomas said, sounding rather unsure of himself.
That thought helped ground her. So this wasn't only weird for her. Okay. Good start.
"Hey."
She paused for a second seeing if he was going to say anything, but he didn't even open his mouth. "So..." She began. "You want to tell me where we're going?"
And, with that, he seemed he had found something that he was comfortable talking about. It was food, after all. What could go wrong with that topic? No, she took that back. Alex didn't want to jinx the night more than she had to.
"Nah. Not really, it's a surprise."
"And why does that make me worry."
"No idea, but it shouldn't. I am clearly the most innocent boy around."
