It's 3 a.m. and the warm body that's supposed to be laying next to me isn't there. There was a sort of panic that was about to surge through me, but then the door began to creak open. My feet were on the floor before I could blink. A shadow moved quickly through the doorway. The shadow wasn't quick enough before one of my hands were around their neck.
"Nile," whispered the familiar voice of my roommate. A sigh slipped through my lips as I slowly removed my hand. I rubbed my face with one hand and slammed the door with the other.
"Why are you only in your boxer-briefs?" Antonia laughed looking down. The jacket resting on her shoulders was quickly shrugged off and onto the floor. She kicked her boots to the side with such as swiftness that she even tore her shirt off her body too.
"You know why. It's twenty degrees outside and body heat keeps us warm," I explained to her. She was now stripped down to her underwear and bra after she slid off her pants. With such class, she moved towards me to only place her hand lightly against my chest. That hand placed on my chest caused me to be pushed onto the bed. "Antonia... you know we can't do this."
"Uhum," Antonia agreed to my statement as she started to kiss down my neck. But the kisses stopped at my collarbone. "I know," she complained in a groan. "But you just so... ugh! I can't even say it."
As I pulled the covers over us she rested her head on my chest as if listening to my heart. I watched her as she shut her eyes, but I knew she was still listening. The fingers attached to her hands were twisted into my hair, so I wrapped my arms around her back.
"We just need to keep each other warm, sleep, and then talk about whatever you were doing this late at night," I stated, sounding kind of fatherly. My fingers drew circles on her back.
"Uhum," Antonia nodded her head causing her hair to tickle me. "G-night, Nile." She kissed one of my arms, the arm with my tattoo.
"Ugh," a smile spread across my lips. "I hate that nickname. G-night, my Ant." I closed my eyes and listened to her breathing until I drifted asleep.
