4-Her Marriage

Hi I am Naina and today is my wedding ahh every girls desire and more than that a need for having some one in your life to say to the world that he or she is yours. The feeling of you belonging to someone is something which can never be explained in words it is a pure bliss.

I was only five and half years old when for the first time in all my senses saw a grand Indian wedding with all the rituals like haldi, sangeet, mehendi and pheras. I've seen each and every guest who arrived to see my cousin Raima di's wedding has been gifting her with gold, silver and diamond jewelry and giving her lots of undivided attention which caught my attention the most. Since that of my life I've this wish to have a grand Indian wedding and today it is getting fulfilled but something inside me is breaking to the extent where it can't be mend by any one. I have always known that this is going to happen to me you must be thinking have I gone mad who thinks like this that to on her wedding day but...

"Baarat has arrived" said Niya

"Oh god the groom looks devilishly handsome " said Niddhi

"Ahh! Nannu you are you are the most luckiest girl to get such a handsome hunk as your husband " Kriti exclaimed excitedly.

I just put a shy smile on my face what else am I suppose to do.

"Get going girls don't you want to welcome the baraat and the groom" Maa chirped happily and turned towards me and put her hand on my head and I smiled and sat back to get lost in my thoughts.

After some 30 minutes almost all the women came to take me to the asile where the garland exchange rituals is going to take place.

I came down with my face covered with a veil as it is a ritual but but every one could see my face through it as it is a ritual but every one could see my face though it as it is of the net fabric. When I lift my eyes to see the face of the groom as I never met him I was shocked not because I know him but because of the fact that his face was covered with thick flower veil.I sighed cause I know he could easily see my face but I couldn't 🙎. I knew that groom face is kept covered till the pheras are done but to these extent its heights.

After the garland exchange or varmala ritual I was taken back in my room to get ready in new saree and jewellery (its necessary cause we mathil have to wear same clothes of pheras till 4th day morning rituals are done ) and to do kumari gauri puja until I am called for kanyadaan and pheras.

As I have lot of time till I am called on the asile for kanyadaan and pheras let me get you all familiar with me, so here I am Nandini Jha yup you are right I am a Bihari(😍), but let me clear you to all that I don't belong to the conservative family that most of the people think about us I wear all kind of modern dresses and party hard with with my friends (although I am a bit antisocial type) along with study that's the most important rule of our family, who goes with the moto "smart study, work hard and party even harder".

I was seven when I first met him my best friend Maan Malhotra we were in class three he was two year older to me. He was and will always be the first man that I've ever met and felt most protected around, my most of the misery just vanish around him but today in the most difficult day of my life he isn't around me reason he doesn't think me as his friend any more but as his better half I will never say that it is one sided cause I've also reciprocated towards these feelings long back, but I never allowed him to confess cause I always knew I won't be able to say him a no because its hard really hard your heartache like hell but you couldn't do anything about it when the fact is known that you have to get married to some one chosen by your family. Sigh.

Our friendship was never approved by our family you know the experienced eyes, may be they have figured out since beginning that we aren't friends but childhood sweet hearts.
