Chapter Four

Haley POV

The next day Allison and I went shopping as planned but it was interrupted by Scott who claimed he "needed" Allison which I new he didn't. To prove my theory on the walk home I called Allison and when she answered she was breathing heavily into the phone while I heard her let out an unexpected moan. I laughed into the phone and hung up because that's all I needed to now that they were too busy sucking each others faces off so I continued down the street with my bags in hand and trying not to fall. A few moments later I heard a car screech to a stop nearby, followed by a door slamming. I turned to see none other than Stiles Stilinski.

"Haley? Why are you walking, I thought you were going shopping with Allison today?" He asked.

I lifted my bags so that now they were in his view and watched as he tilted his head to the cocking an eyebrow. I let out a frustrated sigh and finally spoke.

"I did go shopping with Allison but only for a few hours because after a while she ditched me for Scott and I was left to walk home alone."

I said letting out another sigh and hanging my head. Now that I say it out loud it sounds as if I was some no-good cousin whom Allison decided to leave hanging for her obviously so-good boyfriend. I rolled my eyes at the thought just as Stiles' hand came in contact with mine. I looked down to see that he had grabbed a few bags and was now headed back towards the jeep.

"At least let me give you a ride home" he said  turning around with a toothy grin.

I pretended to be thinking and when I saw his facial expression fall I giggled and shrugged walking over to the jeep. Hopping in I buckled my seat belt and turned to thank Stiles only to find him already staring at me. I decided to save him the embarrassment and not mention it. Instead I asked

"Stiles how come you barely know me, yet you are so nice to me?"

He took a minute to think about it maybe because it was true. I've been here all of three days and yet he has managed to save my ass in pretty bad predicaments I ended up in. Like when the guy at school had been staring at me, he held me. Though I'm not complaining because in all of just three days I've started to fall for this guy. I mean out of every guy I could possibly like, not just my hormones, but my heart chose this one. Usually I'd be the one to follow my heart, but since his is with someone else I've got to find a way to get over him because obviously it could never happen, but everything he has helped me with in the past few days has made me fall in love with him even more if that's even possible. After what felt like an eternity he finally answered my question and said

"It's because over the past few days I've started to li—I. Mean. Your Allison's family and since she's like family to us, your family to us, and we'd all enjoy helping you out in times of need"

I smiled and leaned over to give him a hug before thanking him again.

"That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me" I said with my eyes beginning to fill with happy tears.

He smiled and kissed the top of my forehead before starting the car and pulling off. He held my hand the whole ride to my house and once he pulled into my driveway my face fell. The lights were off and I knew Allison wouldn't be home until Monday. I swallowed a huge lump in my throat and started to exit the car. Just then I heard Stiles get out of his jeep and he called my name. I turned to him and he said

"When will Allison be back?"

I looked to the ground and started swaying back and forth on my feet.

"Not until Monday. She staying with Scott this weekend."

I said knowing anyone with ears could hear the disappointment in my voice. A smile lit up his face and I cocked an eyebrow at him. Obviously he didn't mean to seem that happy so his face dropped into one of a smirk and he started rubbing the back of his neck. Anyone with eyes could tell he was nervous so when he finally spoke, he staggered.

"Well um would y-you like to stay a-at my p-place for the w-weekend?"

On in the inside I was jumping up and down screaming hell yeah I do, but I had to keep my composure on the outside because I knew there was no way he could ever fall for someone like me and obviously he admitted it last night when he said he found a special someone whom at the moment isn't me.

"Sure let me just go and pick up a few things."

"Alright" he replied and with that I went to get some things for the weekend.
