Chapter 7 | fright

You'd been rather jumpy since that nightmare, it was making you on edge and it didn't help a freaking storm had started, it was so sunny before... what happened.

Suddenly there was a huge clap of thunder, making you jump, almost dropping the lid of a coffin on your foot.

"Jesus Christ..." you said, still shaking from the fright.

Undertaker giggled at your reaction.

"You alright?"

"Yeah, that just startled me" you said.

You put the lid of the empty coffin by the wall, so you wouldn't literally drop it in your foot next time.

The second you stepped away from it, another clap of thunder was heard.

"AH!"

You jumped again, this time shaking some more. Usually thunder didn't scare you, but the recent events in your undead life made you worry about everything.

You felt two arms slip around you, making you feel somewhat comforted.

"You'll be fine my dear"

And once again, the usually crazy man was acting sincere.

"I-I know, I'm usually ok with this stuff, I've just been really jumpy recently..." you said, turning to face him and burying your face into his cloak.

"You have reasons to be jumpy, that's ok" he said.

You still didn't know why he acted so calm and sincere around you, but you didn't mind it, it was just an odd change in behavior from his usual self.

You suddenly felt yourself be lifted off the ground and carried over to his desk, where he sat you in his lap so he could work and comfort you at the same time. You watched him write as you kept your arms wrapped around him. His handwriting was oddly satisfying, it was somewhat soothing. Apart from the sudden jumps at sudden thunder, you were actually quite drowsy, from being in Undertakers warm arms and the relaxing sound of rain on the roof. It may have been midday but the storm made it dark, it seemed later.

You could feel yourself dosing off until you finally fell asleep on his shoulder.

When he noticed you were asleep, he couldn't help but let a softer smile than his usual one escape his lips.

"What in the world did I do to deserve you?"
