The sun shone through the window, getting through due to the curtains you had left slightly open. The light hitting you in the face, making you turn over and try to hide from the sun, you snuggled into the person next to you, you didn't remember falling asleep with them, but you knew who it was. You felt like your movement was restricted, like you were in many layers.

Ah... your ballgown, you must have fallen asleep in it after the ball. You didn't really care at this point, you were too infested in trying to fall asleep again. You felt the person next to you pull you closer and begin to run his hand through your hair gently, making you feel relaxed. The other arm wrapped tightly around you, as you tried to fall back asleep, but you just couldn't, you'd been woken up by that horrible sun and were forced to wake up. Your eyes opened and you tried to adjust to the light, once your vision was cleared, your eyes met that of the reaper you'd confessed your love to last night, making a smile crack across your lips.

"Good morning love"

Love... you liked that nickname.

"Good morning...uh, I don't have a name for you yet" you replied.

He giggled and sighed happily.

"You'll think of one eventually, did you sleep well?" He asked.

"It could have been better, this gown isn't very comfortable..."

He slid his hand down your arm and interlocked his fingers with yours.

"Well you fall asleep on the way home, after giving that dress hoop back to Grell. I didn't want to undress you without your consent, I know I can be creepy but I'm not that bad, I wouldn't stoop that low. So I just put you to bed, after a while I noticed you stirring a lot, so I decided to jump in with you to try and calm your slumber a little" he explained.

That right there was a true gentleman. Even someone as crazy as Adrian can act classy.

"Thank you" you said.

Your fingers traced over the scar on his hand as you held it in yours, you were determined to make him like his scars so you'd give them all the positive attention you could. He pulled you closer, letting you rest your head against his chest, keeping you all to himself.

His embrace was the most amazing feeling, like a whole set of unbreakable armour was keeping you safe. It was silent, you listened for a heartbeat, but there was none, just like you, but you loved that. It was something that made you feel more connected. You felt so much warmth in his arms even if you were both cold and dead, it was almost as if the love between you was warming the two of you, you could use logic, and say it was because of the sun, the blankets and the heavy clothes you both wore, but that's it very romantic sounding now is it?

"You make me feel so safe..." you said, smiling into his shirt.

"Maybe that's because I feel such a strong need to protect you" he replied.

"Hey, what time is it?"

"It's..."

He turned to look at the clock.

"9:46... that means the shop was meant to open an hour ago, shit"

You laughed at his screw up, feeling a little response for keeping him in bed but you thought it was more comical than anything.

"We need to get up, I'll see you downstairs" he said, slipping out of your arms and kissing your cheek before leaving you to get ready for the day.

You smiled and got up, you went for the closet to look for some less uncomfortable clothes. Maybe you'd ditch the corset today... it was beginning to hurt after falling asleep in such a tightly laced one. It's not like anyone would be able to see, you'd be wearing clothes.

You pulled out a blue dress and stripped of your ballgown, taking the corset with it.

"This thing is evil" you said, throwing your corset to the floor.

You slipped on your dress and brushed out your hair before tying it into a loose bun. You left your room and decided to make something for breakfast. You kept it simple and made yourself some toast, after quickly finishing it you decided to go downstairs.

You found Undertaker talking to a client about someone's funereal. Upon noticing you he tuned to you and smiled.

"Oh you're up, if you want to help out you can carve the year into that coffin" he said.

"Will do" you replied, getting straight to work.

"Such a charming young girl, I'm surprised she'd be working in such a dark industry" the lady said.

"Yes well, she was persistent"

You smiled to yourself, that wasn't exactly a lie, when you were still recovering you were quiet eager to do something, you were practically begging for something to kill the time.

"Does she work with the bodies?"

"I try to keep her away from such ghastly work but she still manages to get something done with the bodies, weather its studying them for the cause of death or just putting them in a coffin she'll persist"

"I'd be useless around here if I didn't do any of the dirty work" you said.

"Such a determined young girl, I trust my sisters funeral will be I good hands with the two of you" the lady said.

"Only the best hospitality for the dead around here" you chimed in.

The lady tuned back to Adrian to sign some papers about the funeral and tuned to leave.

"January 30th it is, thank you for all the service" she said.

"It's our job, thank your for choosing us!" You said.

The lady turned to Adrian and look one last look at you.

"Keep her around, she's an amazing young lady" she said.

"Don't worry-" Adrian began, turning to you and giving you a smile.

"-I plan to for years to come"
