Chapter One: The Idiot
From the moment I saw her I knew she was perfect. She was walking home from school I assume. I swear it was at least 95 outside, yet here is this girl in black skinny jeans and a black shirt with striped long sleeves. Her hair wasn't helping at all. It was jet black and covered her left eye. Teased up and finished with a blood red bow that matched her lips.
As she got closer it was obvious she was having trouble. Her backpack was hanging off one shoulder and she had three text books in her arms. How could she carry so much and not tip over?
Two guys came up behind her. Even though I was new in town I could tell they were jocks. One came up next to her and gave her arm a small shove. It was hard enough to make her drop her books and slip her back pack off of her shoulders causing her to lean away from him. Immediately I jumped from the tree I was in and started walking toward them.
She reached down to pick up her books but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward him. This caused her to flinch and pull away from him. Now against his chest, she looked around a foot smaller that him. He leaned down and whispered something in her ear that caused her head to snap up at him. Her hand went to his chest as she tried to push him away.
"Xavier please just let me go. I had nothing to do with that!" she pleaded. From where I was I could hear the fear in her voice. When I looked around I was people on the other side of the street not giving a second thought to what was happening.
The other boy came up behind her and pressed against her. Now sandwiched between the two boys she started screaming for help. The boy behind her placed a hand over her mouth and his other hand was messing with the worst ban of her jeans.
When I reached them I hit the guy behind her, my fist making full contact with his nose. He let hop off her and backed away stunned. Xavier, the boy in front, pushed her down and came after me. He swing his fist forward me, hitting me hard in the stomach. Shit! I couldn't breath. I backed up and gasped for air.
The girls ran up and hit him right in the face just below his eye. He looked shocked but then grabbed her shoulder. He threw her to the ground line she was nothing. The other boy grabbed get and pulled her against him.
"Guys just leave him alone. He was being stupid. Obviously he is new here. Danny let me go. Xavier leave him alone I'll go with you," she was pledging. Her eyes came I'm contact with mine and she gave me a look that screamed 'back off'. I didn't care; she was in trouble.
I had finally caught my breadth when Xavier turned to face her. I hit him in the same spot she had hit him before. He fell to the ground.
Danny let go of the girl and can toward me. My fist was red and throbbing bit it was too late to back down now. I looked away from the boy twice my size to the.
"Run!" I yelled. She just stood and started in shock. "Run! NOW! Go!" I put more force in my voice. She flinched then went to grab her stuff. She looked at me one more time then took off in a dead sprint.
I looked back at Danny just in time to meet his fist. I staggered back. Darkness started to rush over me. I fought it at first but let it take me over knowing she was safe. She got away and that's all that mattered.
-Raven-
"Run! NOW! Go!" the tone in his voice shook me. He was such an idiot. He thought he could take two boys twice his size. I might as well get out of here before Xavier gets up.
I picked up my books and bag with one last glare at the idiot. Then I ran. When I reached 4th street, my street, I started to turn when I remembered my brother. He would be there and would be posed if I showed up.
You see, my dearest foster brother was into drugs. The problem with that is he doesn't have a real income, so he would make sales. Trades, really. He would get the drugs and the supplier would get to do whatever they wanted with me from 2-3 hours.
I didn't agree to this so technically it was rape, not that anyone in this bloody town cared. I tired to fight back back but it would make matters worse. Xavier had given my brother, Andy, some steroids. He didn't have the cash dip he said Xavier could have me.
Andy pulled this a lot. Some say it doesn't count voice of the wanted they could just take me. He doesn't let that happen though. He's put a few guys in the hospital. The way he sees it, no one can touch me unless he gets something out of it. Such a great big brother, right?
Anyways Xavier was supposed to have me and if i went home Andy would be livid. So I quickly turned and headed up to first street, where my friends, Phoenix and Chris lived. Chris can go help that idiot.
Chris lived at 307 first street. when I got to his house I talked the door bell. He answered in a matter of seconds.
"Damn don't kill poor thing. Christ girl what did the door ever do to you?" Chris laughed and hugged me. I grinned. Chris was the only the only boy who I was okay with hugging me. To most we liked like a couple. Sure we flirt but it's in a friendly joking way. He is like my real big brother. He is always there for me when I have nightmares. I sleep at his house a lot. Yes, we share a bed but like I said me is my brother.
"I need you to come with me,"I stepped away and grinned his hand. I pulled him out of the door way.
"Whoa there tiger,"he laughed and smirked. "I believe the bedroom is that way," he pointed behind him. "Or are you into that public outdoors stuff?" he whispered in a sexy voice close to my ear.
I smacked his chest and laughed. "No, some idiot ifs gonna get his ad kicked by Xavier and Danny!" I pulled his hand harder.
"Who was it? Who the he'll would be that stupid?" He finally moved.
"I don't know. Some new kid maybe? Andy owed Xavier and when they came to collect they stopped them..." my voice trailed off. This random ass boy who didn't even know me helped me. What the hell?
He stopped walking. "They came to get you but he stopped them?" I nodded. He pulled me into a tight hug. "Oh thank God. I am so sorry, I should've been there," he gave me an apologetic smile.
"It's fine, I understand you couldn't." Phoenix and Chris both had but also had siblings to pick up.
Guilt flashed through his eyes, but I ignored it. "Come on, let's go check on that idiot."
