There's a boy that catches my bus who acts happy at 7am,
he sits with his friends and gives them empty smiles and wears long sleeve shirts in the middle of summer,
I sit behind him and I think he's beautiful.

Every morning at 7 AM Luke Hemmings catches my bus, sits in the same spot, which is next to the window, and waits for his friends. Once his loud and obnoxious friends come he gives them an empty smile and pretends to be happy so no one will notice the sad in his eyes. He fiddles with his long sleeve shirts and looks out the window. Every so often one of his friends will ask him if he's okay and he'll give them another empty smile and nod.
It's nearly summer and the boy that catches my bus at 7 AM wears long sleeve shirts everyday. His friends don't question it, they just go on with they're day, like its normal and it is, but just for him. It looks like the same shirt, but it's isn't. Just a black one, occasionally navy blue, sometimes even with a design or a band that no ones ever heard of. He buries his head in his hands like he has a migraine he friends pay no mind because they just keep yelling.
I sit two seats behind him, watching him slowly suffer, and I think he's beautiful.
