The new school year is beginning today, Matteo and Gastón can't wait to go back to Blake South College. Not because they love school, that's definitely not the reason. It's Luna and Nina, they're so in love with those girls. Matteo would have never imagined falling for a girl like Luna, but he did anyway. Gastón feels something special for Nina, something he never felt before. They both are a mess because those two girls don't know how much Gastón and Matteo are in love with them. The guys think that the girls just see them as friends and nothing more than that. This year, they made a promise to each other, they want this year to be different. So they promised each other that the girls will know about their feelings at the end of the school year.
When they're finally arrived at school, they immediately look for Luna and Nina, it is crowded so they don't spot them right the second. But after a while, they found them near the entrance of the school. Luna was jumping up and down excitedly, she can't wait to see her friends again.
Matteo smiles at the sight of Luna, he always loved how much energy she has inside her tiny body. He's still surprised sometimes by how much energy she really has. He finds it one of the best things she has. The guys are nearly running towards the girls once they noticed them.
Gastón stops to look at Nina, he can't believe how much of an effect Nina has on him. She's shy, he knows that. In the beginning, it was very difficult to have a conversation with her because she would always get nervous. It was adorable and sometimes hard. As soon as Matteo and Luna got closer, Nina started to open up more to the guys. That's how he found out that they have a lot in common. Slowly, he fell in love with her more every time they talked. It's crazy.
The girls don't see them until they're standing right in front of them. Luna is smiling widely now. "Hey, guys. Great to see you again."
Matteo smiles back at her: "Hey, chica delivery. I see that you are excited to see me again. You're even jumping up and down for me."
"Right, chico fresa. I'm excited to see you because I couldn't possibly be happy to see anyone else." She puts her hands on her waist.
"I am the only one who can make you excited to go back to school. I am the best, you know."
"Yes, I see you're just as modest as last year."
"Of course I am, I'm as modest as anyone can be." Luna shakes her head, still smiling. Happy to see Matteo again.
"Hey, Nina. How was your summer? Have you read a lot of books?" Gastón starts the conversation.
"Yes, I have actually. I read that book you recommended me, it is amazing. I especially love the ending."
"Great, I'm happy to hear that. I loved the ending too."
"I think the story is very interesting and beautiful."
"Just like you." Gastón tries and Nina is blushing very much. Gastón smirks, happy he made her blush. That's when the bell rings, it's time to go to class.
"I believe this year is going to be a promising one, don't you think?" Matteo says as they walk to their first class.
"I don't know, maybe."
Luna is still smiling when they are in class. She kept on playing the conversation with Matteo in her head.
"What are we going to do, Luna? We're a mess, we're both in love with our closest friend and they are just joking around, flirting with us. I don't know if I can keep this up any longer."
Luna doesn't know either but she didn't want Nina to know so she just says: "We'll get over these crushes that we have eventually. We just have to stay strong."
"I hope so."
It was lunchtime and all four are sitting together at a table. Just talking about their first day.
"You know what we should do?" Matteo starts after a few minutes of silence, he is looking around, looking at three frowning faces. "We should go on a double date?"
Luna starts laughing: "That's a joke right? You mean, the four of us, on a date, together?"
Matteo isn't sure but he thinks to see a spark of hope in her eyes. "What do you think, Gastón ?"
"I don't know, man. It's a little weird, don't you think?"
"Why not? It could be fun."
"Matteo, can I talk to you alone for a second?"
"Sure." They both stand up and go somewhere that Luna and Nina won't hear them.
"What are you doing? I thought our deal was to tell how we feel to the girls, not to ask them out on a date." There is panic in Gastóns voice
"Asking them out is a way of telling them how we feel." Matteo says casually.
"I don't think it's a good idea."
"I don't see any other way, you and me both know that we're too scared to tell how we really feel. I mean, why else did we wait so long to tell them or do anything?"
Gastón sighs, giving in. "Fine, I'll go with it then."
"Thank you, buddy." Matteo is smiling from ear to ear.
Nina stares in front of her: "What just happened?"
Luna is frozen in her seat: "I'm not sure but I think Matteo just asked us out."
"I can't believe it."
"Me neither."
"What do we do now?"
"Do you think he was serious?"
"Maybe, maybe not."
Luna is unfrozen now, a smirk appearing on her face: "I think we should put it to the test."
"How?" Nina looks at Luna.
"We say yes."
"I don't know, Luna. That might be a bad idea."
"How else ae going to find out if he meant what he said?"
"I guess we should say yes then." Luna claps in her hands.
"Great, we'll find our answer soon enough now."
Right at that moment, Matteo and Gastón are walking back to their table.
"So, what do you say girls, do you want to go out on a date with us?"
"Sure, why not? It should be fun, right?" Luna tries to say it as casually as possible.
