The Fashion Department had become a fashion show.

HA NEUL fixed her hair for the umpteenth time that morning. She was wearing an outfit she'd hastily coordinated over night, and although she couldn't say it was her best work, she could say with positivity that she was glowing regardless. Compared to her classmates, at least, who glared at her from their seats and whispered. What an attention seeker. Such a try-hard. A pick-me girl. None of them mentioned how they had dressed up just as much.

...It didn't matter. As long as she got to see you, it would all have been worth it. If it's to meet her lifelong idol, then she'll learn to bear with the boys who ogle at her in the hall, and the girls who mock her in the bathroom. She's used to it anyway.

Everyone awaited in anticipation as the clock ticked. Even JIN SUNG, who was notorious for not caring about anyone — or at least pretending not to — had put some effort into his appearance. He couldn't dress down in your presence. What if it was taken as disrespect? Not to mention he can't let MI JIN's dream guy one up him on the first day. What if you manage to seduce her with your charm? What if you manage to seduce him? He steels his nerves.

One more minute. YUI flips on her phone camera one last time. Looking good. She's sure you'll fall for her in no time. After all, even someone like you is no match for her feminine charm.

She hopes the same can't be said for masculine charm, but...

"You must work out." You pant as you run alongside JAE YEOL, turning the corner and nearly slipping as you do. "Or maybe I'm just out of shape," you offer with a laugh, and Jae Yeol tries to ignore just how breathy it is, waving off any thoughts that he was preposterous enough to conjure up. "I never would've thought we'd be in the same class. That means we can be friends, right?"

You glance at him, and you think he glances back. He nods earnestly.

You stop right outside your class.

"See you soon." You say as he goes inside first, sliding the door closed behind him. Several people groan out of disappointment.

How many years has it been since you've sat in a classroom? For the majority of your school life, you were online. You never got to experience the life that other people did. Going to a PC cafe, visiting the convenience store on the way to the park, messing around when cleaning after school... those were things you could only experience through a screen. But maybe that will change.

You hear the teacher call for you to enter. It's time.

You slide open the door.

For a moment, everyone is silent.

JI HO, who had spent the better part of two hours trying to find a way to sabotage your entrance, realized in two seconds that it was impossible. He didn't stand a chance against you. He's convinced that he'll face divine intervention if he tries.
