CHAPTER 8: What's important?

BACK AT THE CASTLE...
Emma with worry was pacing around the prince's room wondering where Moon was, and why was she taking her time to come and get ready for the ball, which start in 30 min.

She was about to call the guards to look after the Princess Moon, when suddenly the door of the bedroom opened and it was none other the Princess, when she entered, Emma came right towards her, but when she did she stared at the state she was, her dress was all covered with dust and dirt and shriek from the bottom, her hair was all messed up.
Emma: Care to explain why you're so late? And why are you looking like that? Because it doesn't look like you were studying enough to loose time and looking like that?
Moon: Well I was...
Emma: You can explain to me right after you take a shower because you only have 30 min. to get ready for the ball and you are not going looking like that.
Moon only nodded and did what she said, not before she placed the notebook in the table.
Emma only stare at the notebook, she was about to ask what was that but before she got the speak Moon already want to the bathroom.

After Moon finished her shower she put her dress for the ball, it was pink with a few ribbons at the bottom and in the back, as she put her earings of pink diamonds while Emma was brushing Moon's hair, before silence could be presence between bothe of them, Moon was the first one to talk.
Moon: I'm sorry, for coming late and for breaking the promise I make to you...
Emma: You went to the woods didn't you?
Moon only nodded with embarrassment.
Emma: Moon...why you keep doing this? Every time I left you alone you always do the opposite think of what your supposed to do, and you make yourself her in to trouble or even worst, you get me into trouble...

Moon: I know...but this time it's different from others Emma-.

Emma: And why is that??

Just as Emma asked, Moon immediately got up and grabbed the notebook.

Moon: This is the reason why...
This notebook is what I been looking for years.

Moon only extended her arm with the book towards Emma. Emma only stared at her in confusion, then she looked at the notebook and took the notebook and started to look at the pages, while she was doing that, Moon started to explain absolutely everything...

All about the secret cave,the scrolls about the Queens, the leyend, the map...
Moon kept telling her plan with eyes of hope, believing that Emma would understand and support her.
Moon: With this notebook I can convince my dad to start the journey for the research of the fragments and if we succed, we can finally sign a peace treat between Mewmans and Mons-
Emma: Moon!

Emma sudenly spoke all of sudden with a bit of loud in her voice.

Emma: please, you been with this idea about Monsters and Mewmans since you were little, don't you think it's about time to focus on what's important.

Moon: But this is important to, I can finally make a great change with this notebook, I can finally make a difference.

Emma: But let's face things, you really think it will make a good difference in the kingdom, it could probably be the Doom of it, or worse; besides, the life in our kingdom couldn't be better, your life couldn't be better than it is already.

Moon stared at her almost offended by what Emma said. Did she just said her life was everything she wished for? Like I was complaining over nothing?

Emma continue to talk seeing Moon's reaction.

Emma: Moon, you have everything that only Mewmans will have in their dreams. You have a beloved father and kingdom and they loved you just for existing, a perfect Prince to be your fiancé, and you have me to guide you in every step you take in your princess duties. You have the perfect life and it is already made in your present and in your future...
What else could you ask for?

What else I could ask for?
It was a question Moon didn't thought before...
Did she really have everything she needed?
Was she being unfair with her own life?
I guess she was right...
Everyone always tell her she was wrong about everything, nobody understand her ideas about the monsters, and for thise reasons she was alone most of the time.
Why did this happen?
I'm what moment of her life everything in her perspective change about the world?
...
It was when she found the monster??

Or it was because of her mother's dead???
Probably had to do with it...
After 14 years of trying to convince people for the peace between Mewmans and Monsters, she has gotten only trouble with all of this instead of progressing, and not only progressing with the plan of peace in Mewni, also progressing with her own life.
The responsibilities as a princess, her magic practice and her relationship with her to be husband and with her own father.
If she just would listen to her lesson instead of going to the forest that day, maybe she would be a better princess.
But...
On the other hand. The journal she found, and all those rolls, and the cave, it got to be a signal, or at least, it has to be something, she always pray for a opportunity to show all of Mewni that monsters are not evil, and now maybe, this was her opportunity.

She just couldn't decide...
What is wrong with her?

Emma only share at her, waiting for an answer for what she just tell her, she only expected an answer about she being wrong or like she wouldn't understand, all she heard was...

Moon: Nothing, I guess...

Emma was only shock by her answer, so she took this opportunity to help her in her way.
The correct way.

She said using her name as referring to her as a friend and not her last in company.
.-This is he best for you, and your kingdom. I know you're nervous for all the new responsibilities but as long as you have people who cares about you around, everything will be just fine, just take one step at a time, stay calm, and trust in yourself, there is still a lot of time left.

Emma said with concern and caring in her voice at every word she said

.-But for now...
Emma said getting up from her sit and taking Moon's hand getting her to stand up with her.

.-Let's go and try to have a good time in the ball.

Moon only reply with a smile, almost telling her as a thanks for her words.

Moon went down the stairs with Emma right by her side.
Hoping that what she had prepared to tell his father will change the course of everything.
She could only hoped...
