CHAPTER 10: Words as a weapon

The grey monster as soon as he and the other one looked around them they enter to the ballroom, Moon only stared at the door with terror when she started to hear people screaming inside the ballroom.
what was she going to do?
She was all by herself and probably an army of monster in the ballroom looking for the wand,and with that, they were looking for her...
She had to do something, it's her duty as future ruler of Mewni, all this is happening because of her, they were looking for her after all.
As soon as those thoughts started to appear in Moon's head, she didn't realize she was hyperventilating, she had a wave of emotions going through her mind...
She felt scared, confused, and terrefied as the memories and flashbacks about everything they have said to her about Monsters.
Monsters are evil creature that only act by hatred and nothing else.

Soon she snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the door of the ball room opened and saw the grey tall lizzard coming out of the ballroom with the other lizzard who is green and much taller than the other one, as soon as they exit the ballroom the green lizzard started to talk to the other lizzard.

.- We search the entire ballroom and there is no sign of the princess and the wand. If she is not there, where is could she be?

.-It doesn't make any sense, all the royal comunity is there, even the king, the Princess should have been in there, unless...
The grey lizzard only stay silent and started to thing, and the green lizzard only stared at him waiting for an idea.
.-She must be in her room still preparing for the ball, or she had time to escape and she is in the halls looking for help, wherever she is, she can't go far, not with all the monsters in every exit.
.- So what's the plan? You know we can't hold the Mewmans and the guards forever.
.- I know very well of our situation Rasticore.
The grey lizzard said to the other lizzard with a sight of irritation in his voice.
.- That's why you are going to look in her bedroom and I will look around the halls, while the others entertain the Mewmans and the guards, whoever finds her first, remember to grab the wand and get back to the ballroom to give the signal and for all of us to get out of here , understood?

After saying this the green giant lizzard only nodded and went straight to the stairs in the ending of the hall

The grey lizzard just stood in his place and it looked like he was thinking, perhaps wondering for the princess whereabouts.

On the other hand, the Princess only stared at the grey lizzard, wondering how she was going to save everyone from this monsters before they...
Wait a second...
The Princess interrupted her own thoughts when other idea hit her mind. She didn't need to attack them, she just needed to speak to them and convince them to leave in good terms, maybe even get to know them and why they wanted the wand, and maybe she could help them in other way, But...
Would they listen to her? or maybe even worst, what if they attacked her for into seeing she is the princess?!?!?!
She would have to take the risk for it. Now or never was time to test her theory about Monsters.

Moon took a deep breath in and then let it all out, ready to talk to the grey lizzard, or probably ready to die in the try...
Wherever comes first.
Moon came out of the corner of the hall, walking towards the Monster who had his back over the princess and lost in his thoughts to even notice her presence coming towards his, then Moon said with with almost her heart in her throat with calmly voice:
.-Good evening mon-
Before she could even finish her sentence, just at the moment she started to talk the Monster had an atack reflexed and he just turn around and throw a knife towards Moon, she reacted quickly enough to avoid the knife for it got stabbed right in the walk of the hall they were in.
After avoiding her almost sudden death, she only stared at the knife and after the knife her view come towards the lizzard with almost and offended look towards him.
.-Are you crazy?!?! That almost stabbed my head!
Moon said pointing to the knife in the wall.
The monster only stared at her, trying to understand what was happening right now, but after seeing her a bit closer, he noticed that she was not and ordinary Mewman, she was the princess it self.
With noticing this, he only started to walk towards Moon, and Moon only reacted to him by only walking backwards from him, trying to keep the distance between them.
Then he suddenly stopped, and so as well Moon did, and with this she notice that he stopped right where the knife was stabbed, then he took it off the wall with such force but it looked like it was nothing to him, Moon could really see he was a strong monster, then his gaze turn from the knife to Moon and while doing this said:
.-You're right your majesty how could I been so stupid, a "almost" hit you, but don't worry, this time I'm going correct my mistake and start to aim right, you have to admit, it's better to get things just as we want to, don't agree Princess?

Moon only stare at him with horror and fear as he said this with his low and formal voice, it set shivers right through her spine. The monster started to approach to her swinging the knife in his claw, and Moon once again started to walk backwards in fear. She didn't know what to do, she had a knot in her throat, and her mouth went dry in one second.
But no matter how scared she was, she need to act, even if her body said otherwise, her mind had to be stronger.

.-B-Before you tried to attack me again, I want to talk.

.-Talking won't help you now Princess.

.-It will if it helps you too, I know what you want and I want something from you.

The lizzard suddenly stoped and so as Moon did as respond to his actions. Moon instantly knew that he knew what she talked about. Suddenly a grin appear in his long snout.
.-Well, well, well, didn't they tell you it is rude to hear others conversation Princess. How much did you hear?

.-Just as much as I needed to know that your after one thing.
Moon said with more confidence in her voice, if she knew how to use the right words, maybe she could pull this through.

.-So, if you know what I want, then let's stop this nonsense situation and just get straight to the point. Give me the wand or else?

.-Or else what?
Moon ask almost frightened to hear the answer.

.- Or I'll order my Monsters to attack the Mewmans in the ballroom and living no survivors.

Moon instantly panicked after hearing his answer, she had to do something for her people, but she just couldn't give away the magic wand, who knows what he was planing to do with it. This was an important decision for her to make right now.
There was only one way to stop him, she didn't like the idea but there was no choice, she couldn't think what else to say, one wrong move or use of words and everyone in the ballroom will be doomed.

.- Please, you don't want to do this, and I don't want to hurt you. And I know that there's a better way to handle this things.
Moon saying the last sentence started to reach for her wand in her waist band.
.- First of all, I think I will know better what I really want to do and right now all I want to do is to be my claws in the wand or killed the monarchy of Mewni all at once. And second, this is the only way for me and my people to finally get what we deserve as well as your people over the years and I don't think you and nobody will change that.

Seeing talking won't help right now for him, Moon looked around and saw an armor of a knight in the hall for decoration, with a real sword in his hand, Moon took the opportunity to grab it and, pointing it towards the Monster. If talking wouldn't help them maybe if she played his game And defeated him, he would at least listen to her.
.- If defeating you, would save all those Mewmans, then today you would be seeing your defeat by a Princess.
Moon said with a serious look in her face. Like she said, she didn't want to hurt him, but maybe at list if she beat him in his game, then he would listen to her and forget about all this matter.
The monster only stared at her almost in suprised look, then after a few seconds he put away his knife, Moon felt relieved seeing this, but it didn't last long before he got the sword of his back, it was an almost curved sword, almost as the same size of Moon's sword.

.- I must admit, this wasn't in my plans for today, but I will like to see you trying to stop me, it would be fun, cute even to see you try.

He said with a grin on his face.

Both of them couldn't believe this was happening. The Princess of Mewni, the future Queen of the land, was about to get into a duel with a Monster, who apparently was a lider of an army of Monsters.
But it was the only think Moon could think of, she didn't know if it was panicked that make her take this decision or it was the huge responsibility she has for all her subjects, wherever it was, there was no turning back. She could only hoped her lessons of fencing come at handy right now.

All she could hope, was her grip on her sword not to fail on her.
At least...
