The last secion of Richard's film was due to be filmed in France so Kimberley found out where he was staying from his costar Allce Eve and the STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS actress allowed Kimberley to spend a little time in her hotel room before the inevitability of joining up with Richard in his room. But what Alice didn't seem to know is that Kimberley was there to see if there was any truth to what she had accidentally overheard at work and proven true, find out if there was any chance of being able to save their still new marriage.

The train sped through the tunnel between England and France, arriving at its intended station where Kimberley found Alice, who had the day off, stood waiting for her in clothing that was very appropriate for the Parisian winter. Briefly embracing the two women headed out to where Paramount Studios had a car waiting for Alice to take her and her new companion back to the hotel where Kimberley made herself known to the desk clerks to avoid any potential confusion before following Alice into the elevator and to her room, little knowing that Richard was just getting back to his room.

After getting everything settled into Alice's room just in case she was going to need somewhere else to stay tonight, she had memorised the number of Richard's room so she approached the door as quietly and as quickly as possible. Knocking three times, she stood and she waited while he got to the door, pulling the latch and deadbolt back, he got a surprise when he saw her standing there with her arms folded, a less than pleased look on her face so he quickly yet gently ushered her in, closing the door and ensuring it was firmly locked behind him.

"Kim honey what are you doing here" he asked quietly as he went to take her hands but she quickly pulled back, startling him. The look in his eyes said he didn't understand why she was acting in this way so she came straight out and told him what had brought her to Paris in the first place and she wanted to know whether there was any truth to it. "There is no truth to that Kim" he said as they sat on the foot of the bed, inches apart, "Remember what I said on the day of our marriage?".

She instantly thought back quietly will you love her, comfort her, support and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others keep thee only unto her so long as you both shall live had been the minister's words and the tone of his voice showed his certainty in his response. She slowly closed and then opened her eyes as she nodded in response to his question, suddenly feeling ridiculously stupid for having believed the word from unidentified passengers, falling into his arms and holding him close to her, but knowing there was still the issue of the media.

Sure enough when they returned to Britain after Richard had finished filming his part in this new film, one of the headlines "THE HOBBIT STAR DOES THE DIRTY ON NEW WIFE" but nothing made Richard angrier than seeing supposedly authenticated pictures of what is said to have gone down while hew as in Australia. "There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to these supposed authentic pictures" his agent said, "Mr Armitage is as committed to being with Kimberley as he was from the beginning and it will continue to be that way; there will be no further public comment made on this subject".

When he climbed into bed beside Kimberley that night, the faint moonlight coming into the room through the semi-open windows helped him to see the slight 'jump' of her right shoulder as she did her best not to let him see she was crying. "What is it honey" he asked in a soft tone of voice as he climbed under the sheets and pulled her back firmly against his chest. Pulling herself together as much as possible, Kimberley said it was because she had really hated herself for wondering if it was true; asking him to forgive her for that idea.

"There is nothing to forgive darling" he whispered as he kissed the top of her head after she had turned and settled her head on his chest, "You heard a few women talking about what they had supposedly been told by a mystery friend; you came to France during your break to cofnront me with what you happened to hear rather than do a slow burn about it until I got back to London but on the flipside it gave us some time in one of the most romantic cities in the world for the first time since our marriage".

That made her smile. The thought of moving from Alice's hotel room into Richard's which had an undisturbed panoramic view of the Eiffel Tower at all times of the day, appearing to be at its most beautiful at sunrise and sunset, and in particular when it was lit up throughout the night. Even though she knew she should have been mad at him for letting it make it as far as Heathrow airport, they did spend a lot of their evenings when he wasn't working firmly locked in his hotel room making up for the time that they had been forced apart.

Feeling his arms wrapped around her now, Kimberley had to admit that she never felt as safe, wanted or protected as she did with any of her previous romantic relationships and the time had finally come, she felt, to tell him the news she had been hoping to tell when she paid a visit to him in France, had it not been interrupted by her determination to find out once and for all whether what she had heard was true, but now that they were back at their home, their home, she knew there could really be no better time.
