Past Mistakes || Steven Universe AU

Chapter One

{Third Person Point of View}
Steven was hanging out with Peridot and Lapis at the barn, and a sudden resonating thud brought them out of their conversation.
"Whoa, did you guys hear that?? We should check it out!" Steven said, excitedly jumping up to run towards the noise.
"Steven, wait!" "You clod, get back here!"

So the three of them ran towards the noise, and when they got there, there was a singular house in the woods. It looked fairly new, and it seemed to fit in perfectly with the surroundings. Before any of them could take a step further, a double-sided ax landed in front of them.
"Who's there? State your purpose here!" A female voice rang out. Steven was the one to speak up, even with Peridot and Lapis' warnings not to.
"I'm Steven, Steven Universe! The gems with me are Peridot and Lapis Lazuli! I heard a thud and wanted to check it out!" Steven said. Suddenly, a gem wearing a black v-neck, over the shoulder shirt and ripped white jeans and black converse appeared in front of them. Her gem was a black Onyx with two silver stripes in it. She had brown hair and blue eyes.
"My apologies, I feared that the war had started again. I'm Silver Onyx, but just call me Onyx." The gem, Onyx, said, bowing elegantly.
"Wait, the war? You've seen the Gem War?" Steven asked. Onyx simply nodded.
"I was first captured by the Rebellion after I snuck out of Homeworld camp. Once Rose Quartz deemed me as not a threat, I fought with them on the inside as a spy. Unfortunately, they all got shattered, and I have been in hiding until now." Onyx said, sad remembrance in her voice.
"They're not shattered! Are you talking about Pearl, Garnet, and Rose Quartz?" Steven asked, and Onyx's eyes went wide as she looked at Steven.
"Where are they? Is Rose still alive?" Onyx asked, and Steven pulled up his shirt. Onyx sighed, nodding softly.
"I had a premonition about this...you will do great things Steven. I would like to see the others." Onyx smiled softly.

So then, Steven took Onyx, Peridot, and Lapis to the temple where the Crystal Gems lived. Once the door opened, tension snapped alive like a live wire. It seemed to Steven, Peridot, and Lapis that there was more to Onyx than they thought.
