-Winter Angel
Far in a land there lay a waterfall, its edges moist in a ever-going thaw. Winter had broken and spring had begun to sing warmly in efforts to drive its sibling away. Near to the waterfall loomed a white birch tree castle, a tree that co-existed with the Elvin presence in it. A small town came within five miles of the castle, all with similar tree houses, creating the looks of a small forest wood.
Inside that castle, two sisters waited beside their father's death bed. One fair with eyes that radiated like an emerald gem, a fated trait for an Elvin royal daughter and hair as black as a ravens, her sister a golden-haired, blue-eyed elf. Kaisera the serene moon and Esmeralda the lighting sun, they were called based on their contrasting features.
Both had looks of sorrow on their face as they awaited their father's instructions for which of them was to take the throne. Twins from birth, the two had been born and raised by wet nurses having been rescued from their arrow-stricken mother's womb.
The princesses both would rule the land, one during the day while the other ruled the night, both watching out for each other as a sister would do. Throughout the centuries the two would stay by each others side, each marrying. The marriage of the darker haired princess being the one to bring the sisters apart.
No sooner had two centuries past from Kaisera's marriage than turmoil had started.
"He is just a boy, sister. He meant no harm in taking the signet ring, as any child he is curious and playful. Surely you remember our days of plays." The younger princess stated, looking to the Elvin boy who shared her own dark hair and green eyes.
"The way he was playing with it was not in a normal way. He was heading out of sight, when he knows that ring holds the power of the Elvin monarchy. He is the Elves' only heir, but we must keep an eye out on him, should anything befall him, great turmoil will issue in this province." Esmeralda stated, looking to the boy with adoration and compassion, "I forgive him for taking the ring, but he must understand that this is no ordinary ring."
Kaisera nods, looking to her son, "He will in time, for now I fear for his daringness. He's easily swayed by the words of his father. Esmerelda, you must have something you can do to help protect him, the curse of shadows is the one thing I fear for him. He'd be isolated, not able to understand why no one can see him or understand the fires that surround him."
