You and Jack wind up in a cute little restaurant in the center of town, ran by the witch sisters. They greeted the two of you rather enthusiastically, though you were a bit upset by their constant praise about how handsome Jack was while they were handing the two of you your menus. You didn't understand why, in fact you agreed that Jack was good looking in a... skeletal sort of way. But something about their fawning over him just sent a wave of anger through you.

However, you were mature enough to keep yourself calm, distracting yourself by looking over their selection as the witches finally scampered off to serve their other customers. Eyes scanning over the words, you were left confused and, frankly, a little grossed out.

"Eye of Newt Soup? Frog innards sandwich special? Mud on a stick? What kind of food is this?" You ask, repeatedly rereading in order to confirm that this wasn't just your imagination.

You questions were met with a bashful chuckle, making you look up at Jack who was nervously scratching his cheek bone, "Trust me, they're a little off putting but they taste amazing! It's the kind of food we eat down here."

You wrinkled your nose but didn't complain any further, instead placing your order in when one of the witches came back and waited patiently for your meal. Taking the opportunity to get a good look at the restaurant, you notice that the feel of it reminded you somewhat of a cave. Brown walls enclosing in, but not in a suffocating way. Green torches lighting sides and cobblestone lining the floor, along with some tasteful chains and potions hanging down from the ceiling.
"What are we going to do once we finish eating?" You ask, swinging your feet under the table as you glance back at Jack. He seemed dazed before your question snapped him out of his reverie, "Oh, well, I was hoping to give you the tour of the outskirts of town, maybe a walk through the graveyard? Oh!"

Jack perked up like an excited puppy, startling you for a second before you giggled as his wild behavior, "There's something I want to show you out in the forest, I discovered it last Halloween, I'm sure you will enjoy it!"

That sparked your interest, "I can't wait to see it then!" You smiled, making Jack smile a dopey grin. Soon enough your food was delivered to your table, and of the words on the menu weren't enough to disgust you, the. The sight before you definitely was.

You look over Jack's meal, finding him happily stuffing his face over a fried pumpkin filled to the brim with some unknown meat and questionable cheese and sauce to top. Although his meal looked miles better than yours, you doubted you'd eat that either.

He swallows a forkful and directs a smile towards you, gesturing to your plate, "I assure you it's not as bad as it seems, you'll love it!"

Looking back down at your meal (which you were positive was squirming) you smile weakly and take your fork in your hand. You'd hate to disappoint Jack after he went through all the trouble to take you here. With that thought in mind you scoop up a forkful and pop it into your mouth, determined to swallow it as quickly as possible.

And...

It... actually wasn't that bad. You look down in surprise at your plate. For looking absolutely disturbing, it was actually quite tasty??? You take another bite just to be sure, and then another, and another, and soon you found yourself full with an empty plate, rubbing your belly with a satisfied grin.

"That actually wasn't so bad!" You smile, Jack looking absolutely delighted that you enjoyed your meal so much, "I'm glad you think so, I was worried for a minute there."

You laugh, and after Jack paid the bill you set off towards the gate leading towards the cemetery. Jack held the gate open for you to slip through before ducking between the bars himself, and you and the pumpkin king found yourselves taking a leisurely stroll through a field of tombstones. Each one a different shape, size, and angle, with various types of names scrawled across the stone in different fonts for different time periods.

You recognized a name on one, and another and another, and you realized these were the tombstones for the people of the town, "Are these...?"

Jack nods, already sensing your question, "Yes, although our old mortal bodies aren't under these stones, they carry our old names, date of birth, death and how we died."

He tilts his head to the side, 'like a puppy' you couldn't help but think, "Though I'm not sure who puts them here. None of the townsfolk do and I've never seen anyone work in these parts."

You bump into his side playfully with your hip, smiling up at him, "Must be magic~"

He laughs and shakes his head slightly, "Must be so."

You continued on your stroll in silence, until your curiosity got the best of you making you break the silence, "Where's your tombstone?"

Jack smiles and looks towards you, winking as a sly smirk stretches his skull, "I'll let you find it, it'd be no fun to tell."

You huffed, puffing our your cheeks, "You're no fun." You giggle, trying to keep up your frown, "Then I won't tell you where mine is either!"

He raises and eyebrow, unable to help his laugh, "But even you don't know where yours is."

"Doesn't matter! I'm still not telling!" You smile, crossing your arms with a proud grin. Though now you got yourself curious, "I wonder where mine is, actually..."

"We can look for it, if you wish." Jack suggests, but you shake your head. It was too soon, and too weird, and it wasn't going anywhere, "It can wait." You decide.

Jack only nods and looks back ahead, "As you wish." He hums quietly, but you could tell he was curious too.

The two of you stop before a second gate, and beyond the iron bars and dirt path lied the forest you found yourself in only days before, "Why are we heading in there?" You ask him, turning your head to see his expression.

He looks at you with an excited grin, "Like O said, I have something amazing to show you. I have no doubts that you'll enjoy it!"

And with that he opens the gate and holds it open for you to insert, and you give him a playful shake of your head before passing through, "Why do you have to be so cryptic all the time."

And with that, the both of you stalked into the forest to find Jack's surprise.

But from behind the graves came the sounds of childish laughter.

Hey guys, sorry this took so long, I absolutely love this movie and I want to continue this story, but you know how procrastination is.
But hey, if you're looking for something to read I absolutely one hundred percent recommend you go check out some of my friend's stories. Her profile is called Otakiot and she writes the most amazing reads you'll find on here. Sadly she's not too popular (why do all the good writers get no recognition) so I'm hoping you guys can change that and go give her stuff a look and leave a few comments for her to read! I love you all so much, and thank you for supporting my work even after so long!
Don't forget to leave some suggestions for what you want to see happen in this story, and hopefully I'll update soon.
