Operation Sector V

Rescue

They landed on a dark orange planet

They exited the vehicle.

"I can't catch a signal here." Numbuh 5 said. "Let's split up. Numbuh 2, west coast. Numbuh 3, east coast. Numbuh 4, south coast. If you find anything, call the rest of us and we'll come running. Remember, we're all in this together."

She put her hand in the middle

"Five." she said
"Four"
"Three"
"Two"
and they all said. "One."

They nodded and split up, weapons in hand

They walked around with caution.

Suddenly, Numbuh 5 felt a thud on her back

"Ahh!" she yelled as she turned a round
The two figures did the same

"Oh, Numbuh 2, it's just you" she said with relief

Then there was an unbearable scream
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

"Numbuh 3!" Abby yelled
"That wasn't me." Kuki said

"Then that was..." Hoagey said

"Numbuh 4?!" they all asked as they ran to the sound

"What's wrong?" Numbuh 5 asked

But no one had to answer. A group of plant-aliens were staring at them with... modified 2-by-4 tech?

The aliens charged, trying to capture them.

"Kids Next Door, Battle Stations!" Abby yelled

She shot a rope harpoon making a barrier against the aliens. She ran and slid across the surface and past it to Numbuh 4

"Five!" She yelled

Numbuh 4 threw it to Numbuh 3 in mid-air

"Four!"

Numbuh 3 threw it to Numbuh 2

"Three!"

Numbuh 2 caught it

"Two!"

and he ran as quick he could away from the crowd and the squids were tied together as the team yelled "ONE!"

The squids gasped. "Kids Next Door." they muttered

"Guard them, Numbuh 4." Numbuh 5 ordered. "Numbuhs 2 and 3, let's keep lookin"

Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5 stayed close

"Numbuh 5, I found something." he said

Numbuh 5 looked through some rocks and bushes

"Hey, guys!" she yelled "Over here!"

Numbuhs 3&4 came running

They went over the rocks and found a cage

"Nu... Numbuh 1?" Abby called

The cage rattled, they backed away

"Numbuh 1?" Wally repeated as they raised their weapons

The cage broke apart and open fired
"Wait!" another squid said from inside

They stopped firing, preparing to pull the triggers again

The squid pushed a little button. It was-

"Numbuh 1!" They all yelled

They finally found him, but there was another layer to the cage, obviously not about to fall apart like the last one.

"Abby! Wally! Kuki! Hoagey!" he yelled back

"Dont worry, we're getting you outta there" Numbuh 5 promised

"Don't waste your time, guys." he said "The lock is built to withstand anything and everything known in the universe"

"Everything known?" Numbuh 2 asked

"Yes." Nigel answered, raising an eyebrow

Hoagey proudly pulled out what looked like a hair-dryer and toaster. "Well, say hello to my newest invention. The..."

He put it near the lock, a blue force field was in the hole of the lock and it opened

Numbuh 1 got out of the cage

"Guess we OUTsmarted them, huh?" Numbuh 2 grinned

But he was ignored as the friends went into a group hug

Numbuh 1 quickly pulled them apart

"Listen, guys, thank you and I missed you all, but you really have to go." he said

"But we just got here" Numbuh 2 replied

"No. You dont understand." he said

"Numbuh 1..." a voice crept up from behind

I was so startling the friends jumped to the side, reveling the squids from the group of aliens

"L...L...L..." Numbuh 1 stammered

"Formality." the squid said dryly

Numbuh 1 straightened into a salute "Numbuh Vine, sir, maam, sir." he said

"You four, Numbers, ranks." it demanded

At first they were stunned, but spoke up one at a time

"Numbuh 5, Soopreme Commander of Earth Kids Next Door, sir, maam, sir"

"Numbuh 4, combat specialist of Sector V, sir, maam, sir"

"Numbuh 3, medical and diversionary specialist of Sector V, sir, maam, sir"

"Numbuh 2, sector leader of Sector V, sir, maam, sir"

Numbuh Vine turned to Numbuh 1

"These children do not have positions high enough to know our secrets. How did they find you?"

"You see, maam, this are my old teammates back on Earth and I needed help so I -" he tried to explain

"We were just on our way to get you when these morons attacked us!" Numbuh Vine exclaimed

Nigel could not accept that statement. He prided his friends too much. He had to speak.

"With all due respect, your team would not have been able to unlock the cage for it is immune to our galactic tech. My friends freed me with a new prototype only they have access to."

"Consider this a warning." she told him "As for your friends they prove too high a security risk and must therefore be held prisoner until we can hack the system and have them decommissioned."

"You can't do that!" Nigel exclaimed

"Actually, our computers prove to have more than the needed capability" Numbuh Vine shot back with full professionalism

He couldn't stand the idea of his friends decommissioned for helping him

He stood up high

"I can't let you do that." he said firm

Vine seemed to shake her head

"We'd prefer to keep you on this team, Numbuh 1. But for now, you must go to with them" she said as more aliens came and took them to a prisoner transport
