I felt Darien shift above me. I closed my eyes and braced for my punishment. Then I felt it. Shoved in my ear. Warm and wet. I grimaced. I hated when he did this. He twisted around and pulled it out.

He got off of me and I put my hand on my ear, wiping the saliva away from my ear. Darien watched me and laughed while wiping his finger on his pants. I never got a wet willy before until I started traveling with him. And its the grossest thing on earth. He only did it to me if I really annoyed him.

I glared at him. “Are you done laughing at me?” He laughed a bit more and choked out a “Yeah.” “Then we might as well leave here and get back to the library.” He nodded and followed me back to the front of the arcade. When we got there, I stopped and Darien bumped into me a bit.

“Why’d ya stop?” he asked walking around me and looked at me.

“I just realized something. How did you get the lights to work?” Since we started moving along, I noticed that most places didn’t have power. Must have been because people left power plants and went into hiding.

“I just went to the counter and turned them on. There must be a generator for this place by its self.” He shrugged. I walked to the front window. The bright lights were so bright, they made all the dark push back. So all I saw was a few feet ahead of the arcade. That was dangerous. I turned to look at Darien.

“Well anyway. Can you turn the lights off? I don’t want to walk out there with it so dark.” I told him. He just smiled wide and walked over to me. “You scared, Jay?” I rolled my eyes. “Ha ha. I got your back so be cool, kay? Any infected come this way and I’ll blow their heads off.” I put on a serious face and shook my head. He just put his arm across my shoulders and hugged me tight. I pushed against him.

“Stop playing around Darien. I’m serious” I glared up at him. He sighed. “Alright alright. I’ll turn them off. Be right back.” He let go and walked behind the main desk in the room. There was a wall covered in prizes and goodies behind it. He looked over at me, winked then bent down. I rolled my eyes and the room got instantly black. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out my tiny key-chain flashlight. It only had a small line of light but it was bright.

“Darien lets go.” I aimed it at the desk and was a bit surprised to see he wasn’t there. I shook my head. This guy kept messing with me. “I’m not playing. We need to go. I’m tired.” I walked up to the desk and looked down, seeing only the floor. What the hell?

I looked behind me and around in a circle. Still no Darien. I felt a little chill of worry creep up on me. What if some Infected had got in a got him? I started to panic but reason got to me. The lights just went off and I would have seen an Infected in here. I used my tiny flashlight and found the door, then walked over to it.

I reached for the knob and twisted it, opening the door. Humid night air hit my a bit hard and I coughed. Jeez, I hate the heat. I stepped out and looked up at the moon. It was really bright now. But just earlier is was also pitch black out. I shook my head. Oh moon. You fool me every time. I giggled a bit and started to walk toward the corner of the street. Around the corner and down the main road back to the library. Maybe Darien headed back without me. Insert frowny face.

I stopped. What was that? That sound. Sounds a bit like.

Growling. Around the corner. Growling and sounds of running. Vicious screaming. The scariest sounds that I’ve ever heard in my life. I felt a chill go up my spine. I turned quickly and ran back to the arcade, as quietly as I could. I opened the door and ran behind the desk. There were huge windows behind it but they were covered with game posters. I found a little slot in between them and gazed out.

My heart pounded fast and hard in my chest. I gulped as I watched the corner in quiet anticipation. I waited for close to 2 minutes, when the first Infected ran past. I jumped a bit and my heart almost stopped. He was really tall. And looked about as crazy as any Infected could look. He looked back and forth in the alley. I started to shake. What if he heard me run away? And was looking for me? I didn’t know what to do. He walked a couple steps closer to the arcade and I almost peed myself. What if he see me?

I ducked down in the window and just curled up in a ball. My breathing got fast and I felt dizzy. The world was tilting. I don’t know what to do. I only killed one person who was Infected and that was the worst thing ever. These people are still alive, not undead freaks. They just need medical help. Doesn’t mean they aren’t scary as hell. Darien was the one who would go out and kill them for us, if they ever got in our way. I took a deep breathe. He wasn’t going to come in here.

I got back up and looked out the slit again. While I was having a panic attack, another 2 Infected joined the one tall guy. I almost fainted. I layed back down and crawled under the desk. What do I do!? A few tears escaped my eyes. The strength of my fear was almost hurting me. My head felt like it was going to burst.

Then I heard soft foot steps from behind the desk.
