It had been a long day in the rainforest. Endless petitions from mindless Rainwings and Nightwings. Watching over Mightclaws as he produced houses and shelters for the Nightwings. Answering questions from my subjects. Checking in on the healers. Flirting with Deathbringer, pretending not to like it.

But I did. I did like him. Why shouldn't I? He's handsome, charming, loving, trustworthy, smart, and loyal. What else could you ask for in a dragon?
I know, some dragons ask why I don't show affection back. You see, growing up under the mountain. Nobody ever showed affection for me. Well, just sisterly and brotherly love.

No parents loved me.

I never even knew this type of love existed in such a world. Romantic love.

Until I met Deathbringer.

"Whew." I said. The last petitioner had finally left. I looked at the sky. It was about evening.
It was almost time for my surprise.

"Time to eat supper." I said sternly to Glory.
She burst out laughing.

"Deathbringer, what in the world was that voice?"

"My very best impression of you, of course." I said, jokingly wounded.

Pink creeped up in her scales.
"Aha," I thought. " She does love me after all."

I could hold my smile back no longer.
I bowed before Glory.
" Glory, Queen of the Rainwings and Nightwings, would you please accompany me?"
I held out my talon.

"Deathbinger, what are you up to now?" She shook her head, but her eyes were lit up. I knew she wanted to take hold of my talon. Fine then, plan b.

"Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee? Pretty pretty please?" I whined like a little dragonet.

She snorted, holding back a chuckle.
"Okayyyyyy. I guess I will follow you, my most loyal bodyguard."

She hopped off her throne gracefully. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
"Stop staring, Deathbringer." I hissed under my breath.

I made my eyes go to her talon instead. I took it and kissed it gently. There was no stopping the pink from flooding her scales now.

I looked up and met her eyes. They were slightly embarrassed, yet excited. She had no idea what was happening for her tonight.
