Imagine for Grace:
At last, it was the day of the concert. I had been waiting months for this to take place and today was the day. The doors to the venue were due to open in ten minutes and there really weren’t that many people around. My friend and I were fangirling so much we didn’t notice that the doors opened. We rushed inside and to our surprise, Emily’s army were sat around, chatting to fans. We noticed that Joey’s brother Jakob and Max and Cole’s brother, Cade were both there but going unnoticed. We took the liberty of changing that and went over to chat to them.
“Play it cool.” I whispered as we approached them.
“Hey what’s up, I’m Grace.” I said confidently, it was quite shocking how casual that sounded.
“Hey, I’m Jakob this is Cade.” Jakob replied.
“Okay I wasn’t expecting the conversation to make this much progress so I don’t really know what I’m supposed to say.” I told them. They both chuckled and began talking to me about the similarities in music we all have.
We got so carried away with our chat that we all jumped when we heard Max’s voice in the microphone.
“Cade and Jakob, I see you’ve made some lady friends.” He joked, both of them blushed a little but I just laughed it off.
All of us enjoyed the concert, though I have no doubt that the guys had seen it all a hundred times before. After the show, they insisted I wait with them for the crowd to clear and hang out with the band. To say I was excited was a real understatement.
“Hey guys!” Cole said as he came running from a nearby door, swiftly followed by the rest of the band. Joey caught my eye and smiled at me but looked away rapidly. I looked down at my feet and smiled to myself as the image of what just happened replayed in my head. Emily’s army are a group of the most genuine, lovely guys I’ve ever met and know how to have a laugh. I brought up the fact that I should have brought a wedding sack with me, you know, like the one from Borat. They all found it hilarious, but I don’t see why as I wasn’t joking. Joey in particular was the one I seemed to get on best with.
After getting to hang out with them all, Joey offered to walk me to the station. We walked making surprisingly comfortable small talk and unfortunately, we arrived at the station.
“So uh… I’ll miss you.” He stuttered awkwardly. I must have been pulling an odd face as he chuckled at me and shook his head
“You’re an idiot, I like idiots.” I replied to him.
“And as are you, Grace.” He told me.
“Look, here’s my number. Wait, never mind it’ll cost too much, iMessage me!” I replied before glancing at the board and seeing my train left in two minutes. I pulled Joey in for a hug and it felt like we’d known each other for years! He kissed my forehead and smiled at me.
“Go, but I’ll be talking to you soon.” He told me, I smiled and turned in the direction of my train. I felt my phone go off and it was from Joey.
“Told you we’d talk soon ;)” it said. I smiled like a fool down at my phone and was soon engulfed in conversation with none other than Joey Armstrong.
