"Hey Mom, my plane is landing at 12:45 see you then." I say in my message I leave on her phone and I get through security in a breeze and wait for my plane to board. Once it begins to board I realize I'm by the window and I'm seated next to a young man probably in his late twenties.
"Hi." He says sitting down next to me and buckling in
"Hello." I say giving a weak smile.
"I'm Ethan." He says putting out his hand
"Savannah Grace."I say shaking his hand
"It's nice to meet you if I may ask why Alexandria?" He asked trying to relax
"Kind of a sore subject but I guess I'm moving home to simplify it." I say
"Oh I'm sorry I hope it all works out." He says with sympathy
"Me too." I say looking out the window.
"We will be landing at Alexandria International airport momentary thank you for flying United." Says the flight attendants once we land I get my bag and search for my mother or father it instead I see a familiar face holding up a sign
Savannah Grace Robertson
I smile as I walk down the steps toward him.
"John Luke Langston long time no see." I say smiling and I give him a hug
"Right back at you Savannah Grace." He says smiling and he grabs my suitcase and we walk towards the exit of the airport.
"You know I can carry my own bag." I tell him
"But then I wouldn't be a gentleman like your dad taught us as kids." He says with a chuckle
"Oh god, when you had super long curly hair, remember that?" I ask smiling
"Oh don't bring that up braces!" He says laughing
"Okay okay truce." I say raising my hands up
"Your mother tells me that your football player fiancée split from you?" He says as we reach his truck.
"Yeah, with my best friend in Los Angeles. I hate him right now but over time I will be thankful that it didn't end in divorce." I say as I open the door of his truck
"Well ain't that the truth." He says starting up his truck and he is your typical southern boy he had country music blaring and immediately he turns it down
"Sorry." He blurts out embarrassed
"Oh no worries everyone has to blare old T-Swift everyone once in a while." I say turning up the radio
"Burn Burn Burn I got a picture to Burn." I sing along with the radio as we leave the parking lot. And I then turn it down
"Wow, Savannah Grace your never gonna let me live anything down are you." He says
"Well is don't  know we both have two first names and that's pretty neat so maybe." I say giggling we drive back to my house which is fifteen or so minutes from the airport but it feels even shorter as we talk about high school.
"Oh please everyone wanted to date you the star football player." I say as we pull into the driveway
"And you were a cheerleader so I think that made it easier for you too." He says turning off the truck
"Fine let's both agree we were pretty cool in school." I say opening the door and he grabs my bag again and walks me into the house where my mother sits with my grandma frosting cookies.
"Oh honey." She says standing up and hugging me tight
"Mom!" I say hugging her back and finally she unlocks her embrace and brings me to the table
"Oh John Luke you come here too, I made you both some break up cookies." She says showing up the kitchen table filled with cookies shapes like fish.
"Because you haven't found the perfect fish yet you two and once you do you will know." Said my grandma.
"Awe, John Luke you didn't tell me you aren't will Emily anymore." I say hugging him
"Oh no worries Sav, like your Grandma Mariam said she wasn't the fish for me." He said hugging me back
"Thank you Mrs. Robertson and Grandma Mariam I will have to take some." Said John Luke.
"We already packed you a bag full of them." My mom said smiling and handed them to him
"Thanks again Mrs. Robertson." He says hugging her
"I'll see you all soon, but right now I have to go to work." He says walking towards the door.
"Are you coming to brunch on Sunday?" My Mother asked
"Certainly." He says and opens the door to leave
"Bye John Luke." I say and he waves as he leaves
