The light that flowed around Tyr, filtering through the leaves of the trees, felt warm as it lit the beauty of the world he had worked so hard to create. Once more he was energized to continue his work, and a new idea began to take shape in his imagination. Almost immediately, he knew it would take more than just his own power to accomplish.
With only a thought, Tyr released his form and rushed over the land, still reveling in the feeling of the light surrounding him. His physical form was only recalled when he stood upon the sands at the edge of the ocean. For a moment, he felt odd, and then he realized the feeling was due to the fact he still had a smile crossing his lips. Nyx's gift of light had come so unexpectedly, it was unexpected just how pleasing to him it was.
Unexpectedly, the thought some of his Power was within her, helping the potential deep within her to grow even further, brought along an even more intense feeling. Tyr was almost willing to call what he was feeling happiness.
Almost.
Carefully schooling the smile off his face, Tyr raised his hands to cup around his mouth, took a deep breath and sent his call echoing across the vast stretches of water. "Oceanus!"
After he had cried his summons for the Ocean, he began to pace to and fro across the stiff surface of the wet sand. His thoughts raced with how they would be able to create what was in his mind: creatures to walk upon the land as they did in their physical forms. The creatures could harvest the plants, live upon their fruits, drink of the water's sweet liquid, and enjoy the bounty of the ocean.
Tyr was so lost in his thoughts, he did not notice Oceanus arrive upon the shore. At least until the man laughed from the waves. "Whatever had you runnin' off so fast, seems to have made ya scowl less," the bearded man said, his gray eyes sparkling with reflections of the Stars that still shone high above their heads. "If ya weren't such a big grump, I'd say ya look...happy."
"Say rather that I have an ambitious project in mind," Tyr retorted, turning toward the waves even as he crossed his arms across his chest. His words paused for but a moment when he noticed the reason Oceanus had not come fully onto the land was because though he had created the upper body Tyr had seen in the past, but instead of legs, he had made himself a scaled tail just like some of the creatures that now swam through the depths of his waters. "But it will require more than just my Power to achieve. Will you listen?"
"Aye," Oceanus agreed, finally finishing a form that could walk upon the shore. There was still amusement clear in his eyes as he stepped right up to Tyr. "So tell me this grand idea then. Do ya want my fish ta walk?"
The idea of a walking fish was enough to pull a laugh out of Tyr, the smile he had been fighting spreading across his features once more. Oceanus joined in the laughter almost immediately, and joy rang out along the shore of the sea.
When the echoes of laughter had faded over the rolling hills, Tyr began to explain his idea to the ocean spirit. His normal gruff shortness fell away as he spoke of the creatures that had come to mind after his meeting with Nyx. He did not even need to finish his explanation before agreeing to assist with the project. And after a brief period of time for planning, they sprung into work.
There at the shore of the ocean, Tyr and Oceanus labored next to each other, both using their skills to breathe life into their newest creations. Oceanus provided water to dampen Tyr's clay from which they shaped figures that reflected the shapes they used when walking about, with two legs and arms. The work was done with great care, and each figure was a masterpiece. They were made in every color and form the two spirits could imagine, from the palest sand to the darkest loam they could pull from the land. There were some taller than others, and just as many with curves like those that reminded Tyr of Nyx as those that reflected the strong muscles of the two at work.
When they had made many figures, their creations were scattered throughout the lands. Those that had been made more with salt water were taken to the islands, and the more fresh water used in their making, the further west they were taken.
Group by group, Tyr and Oceanus breathed life into the people they had so lovingly crafted, teaching them to fish, and how to survive off the plants growing on the land.
The people began to spread, multiplying and living off the land and sea just as Tyr had hoped. He began to make them animals to breed and enjoy, like cats and cattle, dogs and sheep, as well as countless others. Each group named themselves, created their own language, and decided what things they loved most, becoming even more unique than Tyr had imagined.
At last, he sat back, relaxing high on the top of a mountain. With the knowledge he was truly alone at that moment, Tyr allowed a content smile to settle on his features. He felt his task was well done at last, and for a time he would be able to rest. With a sigh, he allowed his physical form to melt away as his spirit sank back into the rock itself.
Tyr and the land, was truly at peace.
