Tord's Pov

I let out a deep breath. A soft mist hugged the grassy hill. The day was as cliche as they get. Soft rain, clouds, slightly cold but not to cold. I stare blankly at the two stones that stuck out of the ground. Side by side, only slightly faded the text read;

Here Lies James Rod-ild                                Here Lies Maria Rod-ild

Friend and Leader of many.                          Silent but dangerous.

I wipe a tear from my eye before turning away. The grave yard was small,  it didn't take me long to cross to the other side. I slam the iron gates as I leave. It had been a year since they died, but it felt like yesterday. I brush the thoughts away and start down the small street to my new house. Some say it was just bad luck, others say it was an accident. But I know the truth.

The flash back hits me so hard I almost stumble.

It was late at night. I had woken up to my dad yelling. "What do you mean I FAILED?" He yelled. I slip out of my bed and silently step over to my door. Cracking it slightly I look out into the hall. My father was at the end, he wore only a faded black robe. My mother clutched to his back in her grey nightgown. Two men stood right in front of them. They wore black uniforms and looked as if they where in the military. "You have failed to follow the orders of the High Council. Under order IX-13 'Any reproductive acts are banned from any Leader of any form. This is to assure the loyalty to the high Council.' When you signed your name to the High Counsel you pledged to obey the orders set by the High Council. You have broken that order when you had your son Tord  Lynn Rod-ild. And to think you lied to them for 14 full years. But since the High Council is so kind they are presenting you with two chooses, either be executed on the spot or surrender your son to the High Council." One of the soldiers states. My father clenches his fist. "You must promise me that my son will one day take my place as the Red Leader."  Father requests. The men agree and both un-holster their guns. They take aim. "Jeg beklager tord. Vær så snill å tilgi meg." My father mutters before the soldiers shoot. A shot to the heads of both my mother and father. The sound of both their bodies hitting the wood floor echos through my mind.

I collapse to the ground. Tears pour down my face. The cold September wind bites at my face. I struggle to breath, short gasps leave my lips as I stare at the sidewalk beneath me. Then I feel a hand on my shoulder. I grab the hand and flip the person over my back. Their breath gets knocked out of them as I slam their body on the sidewalk. I pin one of their arms under my foot and the other I twist and pin under my knee. "Hhhhey." They breath. I take in all of their details. It was a boy, his eyes seemed to be black voids, he was wearing a simple blue hoodie that was at least a size to big. "Can you get off me?" He huffs. I release him, a light blush dusted my cheeks. "S-Sorry." I stutter. The boy stands, brushing the dust off his hoodie. "you OK?" he asks. I nod and wipe the stray tears from my eyes. "Yeah. I'm sorry for that, you surprised me." I apologize. The boy waves it off. "Its fine." His eyes quickly scan over my body. I pull my sleeve down my arm, suddenly self-conscious. My blush deepens slightly under his gaze. 'Why am I getting so flustered? I'm never like this.' The boy looks away like he was embarrassed. "Uh my name's Tom." He introduced, reaching his hand out for me to shake. I shake his hand, careful to use the other hand, my grip slightly tight. Still got to show dominance, am I right? hehe. The boy lets go of my hand quickly, holding it at his side. "I'm Tord." I reply, breaking the silence.

A man yells from behind me. Tom mutters a quick good bye before running to the man. I turn around to see them talking. The man says something and hits Tom upside the head. I clench my fist at my side, suddenly angry at the man. 'Why am I so mad all of a sudden?' I take a deep breath before releasing my hand. "Tord!" A familiar voice yells from behind me. I spin around to see Paul. "Hi Paul." I wave. He smiles lightly, "Come on, dinner is ready." I nod, Maybe I might be able to see that boy again.

A/N  Sorry for the short chapter. I have big plans for this, just you wait! I will be continuing the Bendy and the Ink Machine book, I just kinda hit a wall. But don't worry I'll get to it soon! hope you all have a good day!
