I turn to my right and I think I see a shadow in the corner. I think it's moving. I get a little freaked out and reach for my lantern. I quickly light it and see that it's a person. I'm even more freaked out because It doesn't look like anybody I know. They slowly spin around and their eyes are still closed. I hold the lantern closer to their face and see who it is finally. Asher?

I get on all fours and creep towards him. The light in the lantern flickers as I hit it on the side of my house by accident. I jolt to a stop. That didn't wake him up. I keep crawling and when I'm close enough I touch his arm. "Asher." I whisper. I shake his arm gently. "Asher." I say a little louder. I violently shake his arm. "Asher!" I shout.
He jolts up and hits his head. I snort. He continues rubbing his head and looks at me. "What are you doing here?" I whisper. "Saving your butt!" He whispers back. "What? I don't need saving!" I reply. "You never were...exactly.....woodsy...when we were younger, so I thought if I found you I could help you." He says.
I stare at him with a stupid look on my face. "Why would you think that? You know I learn fast. And I am doing perfectly fine by myself. I don't need anybody." I say getting mad. "Sure..." He says sarcastically. "Are you kidding me!?!?" I start to yell. "You don't know anything! You're the one who needs the help!" I yell at him. He puts his hands up. "Whatever you say." He says sarcastically again. "That's it!" I yell climbing out of my house angrily. "Get out here!" I yell. "What?" He asks.
"GET OUT HERE!" I say louder. He obeys. "Get ready." I say putting my fists up. "What?" He asks. I punch him in the stomach. He grunts and holds his stomach. "I said get ready." I say smirking. He glares at me and slowly puts his fists up. "You're going to regret this." He says shrugging. I scoff.
I throw a punch and hit his arm. I can tell it hurt because he shakes his arm a little. He throws a punch and I dodge and swipe him off his feet. He falls with a thud and I stand over him with my fists still up. "C'mon, you don't want to be beat by a girl, do you?" I ask aggravating him. He humphs and jumps up. He kicks my side and I grit my teeth to push through the pain.
I throw a punch and he dodges. I jump when he tries to knock me off my feet like I did to him. I punch his face as he readjusts his position and knock him off his feet again. "Who needs the help again?" I ask placing my foot on his chest. He glares at me. "Just let me up." He whines. "Hmmm, let me think..not until you admit that you're the one who needs my help." I fold my arms. He struggles underneath my grasp.
"Admit it!" I demand. "No!" He says stubbornly. "Fine, I can stand here all night." I say cockily. He huffs. "Fine." He says eventually. "Fine what?" I ask. "I admit it." He says. "Admit what exactly?" I say cupping my ear. He sighs. "I am the one who needs help." He says through gritted teeth. I step off him angrily.
He stands up and brushes himself off. I hear movement behind me. I turn around and nobody is there. I turn back around to face Asher and somebody has him in a headlock with a knife to his neck. I gasp. "I'll let him go, if you give me all your supplies." He says angrily. He looks about a year maybe two, older than me. I fake a whimper. I slowly walk to my house and reach inside I grab my bow and arrow and keep my hand inside the house. I act like I'm still rummaging. I bet I can hit his head from here.
I can tell Asher knows what I'm thinking because he shakes his head no. I think of my options. Asher, or my supplies, or try for both and risk losing it all. I decide and quickly pull the bow and arrow out and draw the arrow back. I shoot after I quickly aim and hit him in the forehead. He throws Asher down and yells with pain. Asher knocks the guy off of his feet and I run into action. The guy pulls the arrow out of his forehead and Asher tries to pull the knife from the guys hands. The guy grits his teeth and struggles to loosen Asher's grip. Asher does the same to the guy.
I run over and kick the guy in the side. He groans and I try to help Asher get the knife from the guy. The guy holds onto his knife like it's his own beating heart and if he let's go he will die. I punch his face and he let's go of the knife and clutches his face. Asher pins him down and I hold the knife over his face.
"Now, are you ever going to come back her again?" I ask threateningly. "Yes! I will come back, with the rest of my group, and we will get your stuff, and my knife back!" He yells with anger in his eyes. "I don't think you will!" I say holding the knife close to his throat. He tilts his head back to get away from the blade. I follow the movement of his throat with my knife. "Please, don't kill me." He whimpers when the blade threatens to cut his throat. "Why shouldn't I?" I ask seeing terror flow into his eyes. "Because I won't come back ever again if you don't." He says. I don't know if that's a promise he'll keep of not.
"Give'm a chance." Asher whispers behind me. I stand up and tuck the knife into my pocket. "Go, before I change my mind." I command as he stands up and dusts himself off. He runs back the way he came from.
"I haven't ever seen that side of you!" Asher admits. "I found that side of me out here." I tell him examining the blade of the knife. This could be very useful. I could use some deer skin to make a holster for it. Yes. That's what I'll do.
I walk over to my house and set the knife carefully on a piece of wood I use as a counter. Then I walk to my deer skin that I haven't used yet and start to form a holster. Asher stares in awe as I work. I make my moves graceful as I pull the string through the hole and out. I continue as I start to think about Asher. I wonder if he will stay here, or go back to where he started. I wonder where he did start. I haven't really moved from this spot since I came out here. I haven't really had too. I wonder if moving now would be a good idea in case that guy comes back to seek revenge. I hope Asher was right about giving that guy another chance. Now that I already have, I'm not so sure I should have.
