I woke up with the familiar ringing of my phone. I was quick to stop the ringing and to sit up in bed. I groaned and walked into my closet, trying to quickly figure out what I would wear to school. I ended up choosing red skinny jeans, white vans, a white shirt with one pocket in the front, and a jean jacket. I set the outfit on my bed and scratched my head, walking into the bathroom and starting the shower. I let out a yawn as I waited for the shower to heat up, stripping off my clothes as I did so. I was quick to finish my shower and change into my school clothes. Looking at the time on my phone and quickly walking into the kitchen, first grabbing my phone. I grabbed an apple from the counter and walked into the garage with Adira's keys. Once in the car, I stopped to look at my phone as Adira started up, remembering that I had gotten a message.
From: Keyon
Hey. So when do you want to start the project?
From: Valerie
Uhm. Whenever's good.
From: Keyon
Tonight?
From: Valerie
Where?
From: Keyon
Wherever.
From: Valerie
My house? After school?
From: Keyon
Sure.
I let out a yawn as I opened the garage door and started driving to Whataburger, getting my usual then heading to the school. I finished the last of my coffee, just as I had parked Adira. As I stepped out of my car I noticed a familiar car strolling to the parking slot next to mine. Out-stepped Keyon, and out of the Porche's that parked next to Keyon, stepped Malaki and Gaige, both having huge smiles on their faces.
"Woah, why are you here early?" Gaige asked and pointed at me, I shrugged.
"I like the school when it's quiet." I shrugged, "Why are you here early?"
"Basketball tryouts." They all said in unison.
"Oh." I hummed, before starting to walk to the school.
"So you all play basketball?" I asked.
"Mmhmm." They all hummed as we edged closer to the school.
I waved them off as I started to stroll the school to pass time.
I had learned throughout the day that though I had the same lunch as the three boys, and I passed them constantly in the halls, I actually didn't have any classes with them. But I didn't mind, I had plenty of time with them on 'A' days. After school, we had all met up at our cars.
"So, you two are going to Valaries....Alone...?" Malaki wiggled his eyebrows as I snorted.
"For a school project. Weirdo." I shook my head, stepping into my car.
"Just follow me, kay?" I said to Keyon, ignoring Malaki and Gaige's wiggly eyebrows. Keyon nodded and stepped into his own car, following suit with ignoring the two pesky boys.
After a medium length car ride, we arrived at my house, I parked in the garage and Keyon parked behind me. I stepped out of the car, turned her off, put her keys on the rack, and waved for Keyon to follow me. I noticed the missing motorcycle, relieved that the old pervert wasn't here.
"So this is your house..." Keyon muttered as he followed me to my room, where I sat on the floor, pulling out multiple art supplies and dumping them onto the floor.
Keyon sat across from me as we started to decorate the little books. Though it took much more time than necessary since we had ended up laughing and throwing glitter at each other most of the time.
"Pft! You got it in my mouth, Val!" Keyon faked barfing as I froze at the nickname.
"Val?" I questioned
"A nickname," Keyon smiled and threw more glitter.
"Oh. It's so on." I grumbled, shrugging at the nickname, grabbing the pile of googly eyes and throwing them at Keyon, the two of us laughing as he pretended to be injured, letting out a fake gasp as I giggled. Before I had even realized what was happening he was on top of me tickling me as I gasped out for a breath in between my laughter. In a desperate attempt to change the sides, I flipped us over, only to fall forward, using my elbows to catch myself from falling. One of my legs was in between his, and the other, outside of them. My elbows on either side of his face, holding our faces just barely apart. I just noticed his eyes. They were an ocean blue, that seemed to shine against the light of my room.
"Val?" He breathed out as I looked at him with widened eyes. He reached an arm out a cupped my face, "Your eyes are beautiful-"
Keyon was interrupted.
"Hey, Valerie I'm home-" Zax had burst into the room and froze. Both Keyon and I whipped our heads to face him.
"O-oh... Uhm... Valerie just clean the sheets later and don't be too loud please... toodle-do!" He nervously said, before slamming the door and leaving. I pulled away and sat on Keyon's waist, him still sitting down. Damn perverted bastard. Wait- what? Did I want Keyon to kiss me? Keyon had sat up, and it now was as if I was straddling his waist. My face heated.
"O-oh, uhm. Sorry." I muttered, standing up from him. He nodded and stood up alongside me. No words were exchanged between us.
"Sorry. That was awkward," Keyon scratched the back of his neck.
"N-no! It was my fault, not yours. Sorry." I looked down, my face continues to heat up for whatever reason.
"No, no, it's fine. Really! I'll just head home now. It's getting late anyway." Keyon spoke after a few moments, picking up his phone and his book.
"Yeah... Bye." I found myself saying. Yet, part of me wanted him to stay. What was this?
Just before he was about to leave my room he turned and smiled at me, "See ya at school tomorrow,"
I nodded my head, my face becoming more flustered than it already was.
"Till' tomorrow then."
