Libertyy awoke from sleeping with Jordan. Last night, all the lights in the city went out. Luckily, they're back up and running after a few hours of darkness.
Jordan is already up and eating breakfast while Libertyy is just waking up. She woke up, changed, brushed her teeth, and showered real quick and still had another thirty minutes to eat.
"Well, well look who finally woke up. Libertyy, you really have a knack for hating school in every way shape or form." Mom said.
"You know it. To be fair, you should be used to this. I complain about school everyday."
"There's no 'school' without 'cool'."
"Yes, and there's no depression, sadness, hate, or cringe without school." Said Libertyy.
"As a matter of fact, you're missing an 'l' in those words to make 'school'."
"But, did I make my point clear?"
"Crystal."
They stayed in the living room for quite some time until every mobile phone in the house got an Amber alert.
"An Amber Alert has been issued in your local area. Please check local media." Libertyy's mom read aloud.
"Well, what's it for?"
"Hold up, I got a text from your school." Libertyy's mom read something on her phone, quietly. "Okay, you don't have school today."
"Why?"
"There's a fire in the area."
"A what?"
"A fire." Jennifer said as Libertyy tried to process the words coming out of her mom's mouth.
"We should start to prepare in case we need to evacuate."
Libertyy grabbed her phone, charger, laptop, clothes, photos, food, anything valuable to her and attempted to cram it all into a backpack.
Her phone went off once again, expecting an Amber Alert. Nope, it was her friends.
"Libertyy, did you get the alert?" Jade texted.
"Are you okay?" Chris texted.
"Yes, I'm fine." Libertyy replied.
"We were worried." Jade texted.
"Sure seems like it." Libertyy texted back.
"Did you see the sky?" Chris texted.
"No..."
Chris sent a photo of the sky. It was unusual. It had a grey tint, among it's orange sky. He sent a second photo. The sky was grey. Pure grey. It looked horrific, and this was within one day.
"The news says that it's coming towards us, fast." Chris texted.
"0% contained." Jade added.
"I'm going to evacuate soon." Chris replied.
"Yeah, me too. The air smells horrible." Jade agreed.
"Well, it's a fire. What do expect? Ocean Breeze?" Libertyy texted.
"I don't know."
"I got to go. See you hopefully later." Libertyy said.
"Bye." Chris and Jade said.
An hour passed by of pacing around the room with anxiety. Libertyy, quite frankly, was nervous. She was afraid that she would have to leave her friends, move to a different side of the country. She was afraid that the future she had planned out, would be torn to shreds in a matter of seconds.
