Taehyung waited patiently on the bus stop a few blocks away from his dorm, playing with a small dice he had found in Hoseok's section of their room, wondering how the older might've gotten his hands on such an amusing toy without Taehyung's consent. The young alpha was calmly throwing the dice upwards when he felt his nostrils dilate all of a sudden, his smart, instinctual nose catching onto a fragrance he knew all too well.
He looked up quickly as he smelt the trace of mint all over the air around him.
Taehyung turned his head around in search of its source desperately, stopping when he saw a nest of familiar platinum blond hair walking towards his way on the sidewalk, sunset colors spread backwards to the silhouette.
His breath caught as he saw the man arriving closer to the younger's location, their equally dark eyes accidentally meeting halfway.
The man sat next to him, earphones tucked neatly inside his ears, as if he didn't want anything to do with Taehyung at all.
"Hello, hyung.", the younger alpha said with wide brown eyes intensely watching the other. The smell of mint grew stronger with each breath. Taehyung was starting to feel dizzy around the cold, sweet air emerging from his bench companion.
The other ignored him without a word.
Taehyung kept speaking either way, he wasn't one to stop when he wanted to share his thoughts.
"I'm sorry for everything, Yoongi-hyung, I didn't mean it," he started, hands playing with the dice incessantly, "I know you don't want to be near me anymore, and I guess it's my fault, but still -"
A bus appeared from the side of the small hill overlooking the city. Yoongi began to stand up, when Taehyung hurriedly went to grab his arm.
The blond took one of his earphones out and glared at him, gaze hard and unforgivingly alpha. The younger flinched away in surprise, his instincts begging him to fight for dominance, to reclaim his position as an alpha as well. He shrugged the urge off stubbornly. He was not submitting to his own nature ever again for as long as their argument continued.
He could at least make that effort to fix everything.
"Stop whatever the fuck you think you're trying to do.", Yoongi snarled., "Just stop. I'm done with your bullshit, Taehyung."
The minibus stopped heavily in front of the pair with a loud screech. Turning his harsh stare away from the younger, Taehyung thought he had seen a flash of hurt on the blond's onyx eyes.
Yoongi immediately jumped at the vehicle's eventual approach, skipping a few steps to finally head inside and seat in the back, where Taehyung was still able to watch him as long as he craned his neck enough. He stared as the older got comfortable, plucked his abandoned earphone piece inside his ear again and quickly closed his eyes to welcome a deep session of sleep.
A second later, the bus renewed its journey, leaving a large cloud of dust, earth and misery around the young alpha, who fervently wished he could someday confess the cruel, beautiful truth to a person he cared much about.
A person like him.
Taehyung sputtered, the small cube falling from his hands as he faced palmed himself so hard he would surely leave a mark, realizing that he had missed his ride to Jimin's place.
Gosh, he could be so stupid sometimes.
